Part three of the Kilmichael Ambush looks at phrase four of the ambush where the controversial "False Surrender" took place. The Kilmichael Ambush was a major victory for the IRA during the War of Independence, they killed 16 members of the Crown Forces &lost three themselves. However, controversy has surrounded Kilmichael ever since 1920 with accusations of a false surrender, brutal murder of Crown Forces and alleged mutilation of corpses. I'll examine the engagement in detail and try to bring what really happened to light.
