Outer initially launched as a direct-to-consumer (DTC) model, but they also created a unique neighborhood showroom program where customers can visit nearby Outer customers to experience the product before purchasing. The showroom concept was inspired by the idea of an "Airbnb of retail" and has been successful in building a community around the brand.
