Polyvagal Theory- perhaps sounds a bit serious and dry - but new understanding created this model in the last decade or so and it is one of the ways that I find helpful in understanding where the nervous system is at. When we have awareness as to where we are we can then learn what actions can help us get to a better place. In a polyvagal world this looks like how we recognise and move to a regulated nervous system, when the body can heal.
