The Listen is a weekly conversation between friends and colleagues, Abi Gibson and Charlie Perry, who share their observations and overanalysis of pop culture, current affairs, and their own lives. Think of it as a nostalgic, glossy magazine but a lot less toxic and with a lot more intellect.
Founder of Astrid Productions, Charlie, and Senior Producer, Abi, have been producing your favourite podcasts for years but now they’re in front of the mic. Each week they gather three stories to keep you in the know about the things that matter and crucially… the things that don’t.

You have experienced it on an empty street at night, on a crowded bus, at work, in worship centers, lecture halls, or even at parties. You felt it when you doubted yourself; when you stopped yourself from taking that walk at night; when you feared the force of your own desire, obsessed about how you look, or let the fear of financial death trap you in a bad relationship. This is the Female Fear Factory.
Female Fear Factory: The Podcast is inspired by the ground-breaking book, Female Fear Factory: Unravelling Patriarchy’s Cultures of Violence by award-winning author and renowned feminist scholar, Professor Pumla Dineo Gqola. The Female Fear Factory speaks to the different ways in which the patriarchy produces fear in people socialised as female globally. Gathering first-hand stories about females’ experience of fear, this podcast highlights the reality of how fear is nurtured within them, how it has shaped their lives, and how they are breaking free from it. For this podcast series, we have put together a line-up of diverse personalities, professions, and nationalities to represent the myriad of experiences across the globe. We hear from the author herself, Pumla Dineo Gqola, Chitra Nagarajan, Natalia Molebatsi and more.
Join us as we go from South Africa to Sri Lanka, India to Iran and learn the many ways that the patriarchal fear factory manifests across culture, generation, religion, and location.

Pole dancing is a powerful force for positive change!
Messy comedy grubs Siân Docksey and Lulu Popplewell talk to guests about the magic of hanging off a stick.
Pole dancing comedian Siân Docksey noticed how much pole dancing had improved her mental health, so she started a podcast from her parent's basement about it. This grew into interviews with pole dancers about everything from creativity, body confidence and gender identity to sex worker activism and business skills.
Co-hosted with comedian Lulu Popplewell, the podcast speaks to sexy stick enthusiasts at all levels about the art of stick-dangling: from hobbyists using pole to manage a disability to multi-competition winning professional dancers, instructors and studio owners shaking up the industry.
You can also get bonus-length episodes and help us keep making the podcast by joining Siân's Patreon . Follow the polepod on Instagram and don't forget to recommend us your friends!
Created by Siân Docksey, edited by Alice Rosenthal with original music by Amelia Bayler.

For twenty-five years Kevin Boniface has been writing succinct descriptions of events and incidents that have taken place whilst out and about on his postal round, his daily route taking him from the main sorting office to the streets and outlying neighbourhoods above the town. In these commentaries and records nothing seems to be typical—engaged and disconnected conversations, the observed and the overheard—the everyday activity of life on the move.
