  • Episode 52: The Student Loan Crisis Uncut – The Next Financial Bubble?

In this unabridged episode of The Nonprofit Insider Podcast, we dive deep into one of the most pressing financial issues facing millions of Americans today: student loans. Swim Karim presents a compelling case for why the student loan crisis could be the next financial bubble, comparing it to the 2008 recession's housing collapse. This episode uncovers the startling realities of student debt, its impact on the nonprofit sector, and why it’s more than just an individual problem—it’s a societal issue that demands attention.

    Key Discussion Points:

    - Too Big to Fail, Again? – A look back at the 2008 financial crisis and how government intervention saved major industries. Could the same strategy be used for student loans, which would require an estimated $1.6 trillion bailout?

    - A Nationwide Problem – With 42 million Americans holding student loan debt, we explore why the numbers are climbing and why the issue hasn’t gained more traction in current political discussions.

    - The Nonprofit Angle – Why this crisis isn’t just a financial issue but a nonprofit one, too. Learn how student debt affects nonprofit workers and what it could mean for the future of the sector.

Tune in to hear this unfiltered take on why student loans are more than a personal burden—they’re a ticking time bomb for the entire economy.
