In the episode Madeline spoke with Leah Webster, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who received her undergrad degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa, and Master's of Science in Couple, Marital, and Family counseling from Portland State University. In this episode Madeline spoke with Kelsi Dennis a licensed clinical social worker who got their masters from University of Louisville. She has been working in the mental health field since 2013 and has extensive experience treating mood disorders, chronic trauma, and personality disorders. Kelsi has specialized training in perinatal mood disorders and advanced certifications in sexual dysfunction and child development/welfare. They discuss how to build boundaries with family members that can be difficult to see and mindfulness in situations that can be stress inducing. Madeline and Kelsi also chat about the grieving process of not being able to see family (or chosen family) because of the pandemic and how to take the steps to combat depressive thoughts and feelings.
