  • Dan Feeney is the Senior Director of Biomechanics and Research at the BOA Performance Fit Lab and if you think you know BOA just wait until you listen to this episode.

Dan takes us down the rabbit hole of all things BOA. We talk about what the BOA Fit System is really all about and the massively extensive testing BOA does to achieve unequaled BOA comfort and performance benefits.

Dan has a Ph.D. in Neural Control of Movement and elaborates on what exactly happens in the BOA Performance Fit Lab day in and day out, and how BOA continues to push the boundaries of what's possible in golf shoe performance.

We geek out about the multitude of BOA shoe configurations, Fitts' Law, the purposes and differences between multiple BOA dials, and how deeply involved BOA is in golf shoe designs with its partners right from the first concept.

And for the first time in PGAPappas Podcast history we're also going to give a pair of new FootJoy Pro SLX BOA golf shoes to a listener. Just comment in the podcast comments section (or on X/Twitter, Instagram, or my Blog with what you enjoyed most about this episode.

This one's a lot of fun. Down the BOA rabbit hole we go baby!

  • Chris Gotterup won the inaugural Myrtle Beach Classic last week breaking through for his first career PGA Tour victory.

Chris joins the pod from Valhalla Golf Club where he's competing in the PGA Championship and talks with me about what he felt after winning his first Tour event and what this first Tour win means.

We take a look at the unique way Chris prepares for each Tour event (Chris actually likes just walking the course rather than playing it in practice rounds), discuss why he's playing with more control and ease, his greater awareness, and dive deeper into improvements he's made in his short game.

Chris also opens up about pressure, expectations, confidence, and you'll get the sense very quickly Chris is very grounded and very poised. He really embodies the saying "don't complicate the simple, simplify the complicated."

Chris explains what #TheTripleVodka is all about, lets me know if he likes the nickname I've given him - "The Motto," and is an absolutely genuine, straight talking, salt of the earth kind of person. This one was a lot of fun.

  • Chris Gotterup locked up his PGA Tour card over the weekend on the last day of the Korn Ferry Tour Finals Championship and joins the pod to talk about all the emotions he experienced from that crazy day in a very genuine way.

Chris and I talk about all things under the sun and you see very quickly who Chris is. Yes he's that guy with every shot in the bag top to bottom, who hits laser bombs off the tee, and is most definitely a player to watch on Tour in 2024.

But Chris is also that guy who keeps everything real. He's truly one of the good guys. Chris and I talk about the grind of his Korn Ferry Tour rookie season, the things he learned that can translate to his upcoming rookie year on Tour, how he approaches the game, his routines, what his goals and hopes are for the 2024 season, and events he's most looking forward to.

Chris also opens up about family and friends, what he likes to do off the course, his insane golf shoe collection, equipment testing, and I even challenge Chris to a money game.

A lot of laughs, a lot of real talk, and a lot of insight into what makes Chris the player he is and also the person he is.

  • Leigh Steinberg is a superstar sports agent having represented more NFL Draft Number 1 picks than anyone in NFL history. His list of clients is a Who's Who of sports legend, and he's seen it all in pro sports and negotiated every kind of deal imaginable. Steinberg joins me for Episode 2 of The PGAPappas Podcast with some great insight into the how's and why's of the recently announced merger between the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and PIF (Public Investment Fund) that owns LIV Golf. Steinberg and I talk about who the winners and losers are in the deal; what mistakes PGA Commissioner Jay Monahan has made leading up to the merger and what he can still do to right the ship; sportswashing; and what must done to bring disgruntled and angry players and fans on board.

  • Eugenio Chacarra, LIV Golf young gun and former Oklahoma State University star, joins me for the premiere episode of The PGAPappas Podcast.  Eugenio shares lessons he learned from Seve Ballesteros, tells me where his game is after battling a recent, serious injury, explains how playing at OSU shaped his game and personality to take the next step, and talks candidly about everything LIV Golf.
