Unless you have not been paying attention all of the US factory hotrods are now supercharged. Hellcat/Demon, Corvette, and Mustangs have superchargers and that opens up a lot of potential not only in factory upgrades but aftermarket additions.
Mike Sitar of Magnuson Superchargers calls in to explain the current state of the supercharging market. Years ago superchargers were the typical X-71 based clunky heat generating units, but technology has changed all that. The OEM's are exploring the HP limits and that drove the need for larger and more efficient superchargers was evident. Magnuson has grabbed onto this market with some fantastic products that can make very serious power numbers. Lots of good information from Mike, and we are glad he called in.

We have covered the internets and the misinformation on the web, but it is always worth covering again. Dave has never sat in on one these discussions so it was good to hear his perspective. People say and do the craziest stuff and you need to know when not to listen.

OK, we can all thank Dave Localio for getting us connected with tonight's guest. We have talked to a ton of people in serious forms of racing, but this takes serious to a new level.
We realize we have listeners from all different areas of motorsports but this is one any performance minded person should be interested in.
Vince Tiaga, the lead powertrain engineer from GM's Corvette Racing project, joins the show calling in from France. Why France? Because Corvette Racing just completed pre qualifying for the 24 Hour of Le Mans race to be held June 16-17.
Yes, that Corvette Racing.
Vince explains his path to the GM Corvette Racing Project, and some of what goes into running these types of events. We talk about everything from powertrain to the actual events themselves. This one is a must listen.

Tom said it best, dumpster fire.
So, we have no internet, no sound machine, the mixing board decided to on vacation, and we ended up streaming the show for the fans live with my cell phone.
Check out how the Power and Speed team overcomes adversity.

One of the best parts of doing this show is talking to people who have slid into this industry from less than obvious avenues. Chris Delgado is one of those guys.
Chris Delgado of Prospeed Autosports started tuning cars in 2000 and took a interesting route to get there. Chris, a fan of hot pockets, sought out work in areas that interested him. Translation, Chris is a motivated guy who learns how to do what he needs to do. People that do this are fascinating because they are not confined to conventional thinking when looking at a new challenge.
Chris is into a lot of interesting areas, and we talked about everything from "White Rice" to GM DI add port fuel injection systems. Give this one a listen to find out more.

We think once or twice we brought up the cathedral port vs square port head thing. There has always been a "debate" about what heads are better for what and why. Tonight we have an expert that tested exactly this. Ben Strader of EFI University has built two engines with each of the head styles. The first engine, the cathedral port, has been installed in Ben's car and has made passes at the track. Listen in for the details and do a Google search of "Spinal Tap"
EFI University is the real deal for education in these areas. We cannot stress enough the level of professionalism and detail that EFI U provides. If you are serious, and have the time, call them.

We always welcome repeat guest, and Dave Localio of HeadGames is no exception. He actually lives close by the "studio" and at some point is going to come back in. Dave has a ton of real world experience in cylinder head work from everything from Vipers to 2JZ. Listen in and he will be back again in studio soon.

Tom returns with some tales from the UAE after being gone for what seems like 6 months. Custom Show, serious dune machines, and clams are all covered.
Mike has gotten deeper into the welding and metalwork side in his quest for a turbocharged Tahoe. He got some products from some companies you might be interested in. He's quite picky so when he says something works, it works.

Mike, Tom, Tad, and two friends of the show Anthony and Josh stopped in to check out the "studio"
For long time listeners Anthony called in about the self learning EFI in one of the very early show. We told em to come in and years later he finally did. Anthony is going to try to get to Drag Week this year and is getting parts together for a old school SBC. Josh is a LS guy and working on his own deal right now. We are going to see if we can help these guys get some part together. It's always nice to meet good guys from the car world. They are both welcome to stop by anytime.
A bunch of live callers called in and that is always nice.

This days always happen. We look around the room and say "whatdoyaogot"... nothing. Sometimes these shows are good from the standpoint of just the guys being the guys. (if ya heard the preshow stuff like "Build a Tad" referenced you could only imagine)

Lake speed has been around racing as long as any of us can remember. Working with Gibbs Racing for many years has lead to the formation of Driven Racing Oils. Oils have changed more than most people over the years and those changes have impacted the life of high stress components in the engines we work with. Listen in for the changes that happened over the years in oils and why you should be using Driven Racing oil in an engines that push the limits.

Mike, Tom, Tad, and SS Jeff in Studio.
Jeff stopped by for the show and he has his SS going pretty good. 10.60 at 135ish. That's pretty damn nice for a 4400LBS street car.
Greg Banish has been on several times before and always has loads of good information. Greg has honest to god OEM level calibration experience and knows the "right" way to do everything from their perspective. Imagine having all kinds of power and the mannerisms of a the showroom production car. His videos are priceless if you are working with the Gen 4 GM tuning tools and you should really check it out.

To borrow from todays racing lingo, this is what we would call a "No Prep" show. (not that most of them are full of prep to begin with)
The show was cancelled because Tom got called away, but Jeff showed up so we turned on the mics. I have always said they can't all be winners, but sometimes it's nice to just shoot the breeze.
PJ from Canada called in (eh) to give some Rocky Mountain race week info. We had past shows discussing this event and if you are interested this has some details about this year's upcoming event.

It's always nice to have return guests and it's even better when we can get some of the latest info people should know about.
JC Beattie of ATI Performance joins us tonight for some additional transmission information. All the power in the world won't get the job done if the car does not leave and gets down the track. The engines of today can make so much power they require a trans that is built to live. Trans and converter tech has come a long way over the past few years and it never stops evolving. ATI is always on top of what it takes to get it done. Listen in as we discuss everything from the TH400 of today and the transmissions of the near future.
