Noteworthy quote from this episode:
“We are all just too close to it. I am the biggest advocate of outside perspective, whether it is a conversation like this, a formal consultant or coach, a mastermind, a life partner, it does not matter. We are so close to our own thoughts and feelings that it is so helpful to have it reflected back to us.”

Welcome back to The Rebel Maker Podcast. In today’s episode, I’m answering the questions I always get from authors when they’re writing a story that includes another individual or that, at some point in their book, are writing about another individual.

We’re going to dive into defamation of character, rights of publicity, the importance of having a lawyer to back you up, and whatever you need to protect yourself.
If it’s up to me, this will NOT be the reason that stops you from writing your book.

Noteworthy quote from this episode:
“My zone of genius is never taking myself so seriously that I feel beholden to a path.”
“When we can get ourselves to a place of physiological and psychological, emotional and mental safety, the world is a stage. And it's all play. And there's really very little danger involved with most of what we do.”
“If you don't feel safe on a daily basis you're probably not very creative, which to your author listeners, that's a big deal. Because creativity is where a lot of writing comes from.”
“Attention is the currency of the 21st century. It's not money. Money is there, but money follows attention.”
“One thing anybody gets out of this podcast, it's the permission to be audacious. Be big, take up space, because that's the literal thing that's going to change your business career.”
“Failure is inevitable on the journey to success.”
