  • The 4th International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4), held in Antigua and Barbuda from 27 to 30 May 2024, brought with it renewed attention to the challenges faced by Small Island Developing States (SIDS), most centered around climate change.

    SIDS4 centered around the theme, "Charting the course toward resilient prosperity" and the 37 UN member nations and 20 associate members participating drew attention to four key areas where SIDS are expecting greater support, namely: (1) building resilient economies, (2) fostering safe, healthy and prosperous societies, (3) establishing a secure future and (4) promoting environmental protection and planetary sustainability.
