  • Meet Chris Brown…

Coach Chris Brown has spent his career on the biggest international sporting stages, and as a two-time Olympic Coach, Chris is recognized most for leading the U.S. Women's Rugby Team from fifth to first in the World. Chris was awarded World Rugby's "Coach of the Series" upon the completion of his first season in charge.

He’s a native of New Zealand and began coaching in South Africa before moving north to prepare Namibia for the 2011 Rugby World Cup. Next up was Kenya, where Chris helped lead their Men's Rugby Team from 13th to 5th in the World. In London two years later, he would be instrumental in helping the U.S. Men's Olympic Rugby Team win their first World Series event.

Chris's international experience and unparalleled coaching instinct have compelled even the most under-resourced teams to victory. Through his unique approach, he ignites the champion within each individual, pushing high achievers to break through their limitations and reach new heights. By fostering unwavering character, amplifying integrity, and cultivating resilience, he empowers individuals to achieve success and sustain it, both on and off the field.

  • Check out this episode of the Victory Podcast with lifetime athlete Marilyn Chychota.

    From Marilyn's website- https://www.marilynchychotacoaching.com/
I work with athletes all over the USA and globally. I am an experienced professional coach and an elite performance coach. Coaching is my passion and full-time job.

A program should develop all aspects of an athlete progressively and with consistency, training the full spectrum that goes into a complete athlete. For one athlete, this process will require a specific path. For another athlete, it’s completely different, and it changes as an athlete develops.

I believe in coaching each athlete specifically to their needs, their personal development, and to their specific goals.

My philosophy as a coach is to create an environment that enables athletes to develop confidence in their abilities, learn all skills necessary, and to have opportunities to understand their tendencies, while developing them to be their best.

I believe in quality coaching through science and the proven art of success. My athletes’ goals always come first. The athlete-coach relationship is a fundamental part of our success.

I believe in consistency over time towards reaching your goals. I want to support you to go further than you ever thought possible. My goal is not to sell you short cuts, but to provide quality that will get you results. I want to empower you through sport to be the best you can be in your life. I provide long term planning, dedicated coaching, and a commitment to making you better.

“Marilyn has built her coaching record through the tireless dedication she puts into every one of her athletes, bringing her lifetime of athletic achievement to help them achieve their goals. She has a rare combination of elite experience, coaching versatility, and commitment to her people.”

    MCC’s symbol is the fern:

In the face of adversity I discovered my ability to endure through sport. I grew despite obstacles, and realized the joy in helping others achieve the same. Our team symbol, the fern, represents my journey and the journey I share with the other members of our team:

AYA = “FERN” is a symbol of endurance and resourcefulness. The fern is a hardy plant that can grow in difficult places. Individuals who wear this symbol have endured many adversities and outlasted much difficulty.

    ----Bio----
Lauren is a 3-time Olympian who has taken her lessons from the athletic field into the business world to earn success in a new industry. She was a member of the U.S. Women’s National Field Hockey Team from 2005-2016 where she competed in the 2008, 2012, and 2016 Olympic Games. She captained the team from 2011 - 2016 until she retired after the Rio Olympic Games.

In her playing career she competed in 2 Pan American Games, winning gold in both the 2011 and 2015 Games, the 2014 World Cup where her team achieved a historic 4th place finish, was a gold medalist at the 2014 Champions Challenge, and won bronze at the 2016 Champions Trophy. In 2014 Lauren was named an FIH Player of the Year nominee and twice selected to the All-Pan American Team. While training for the Olympics, Lauren earned her Masters in Public Administration with an emphasis in Non-Profit Management from the Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry University.

Before joining the National Team, Crandall attended Wake Forest University where she was a two-time National Champion, two-time ACC Champion, and 3-time All American. In 2006 she was a Finalist for the Honda Award, the collegiate sport specific top honor.

However, beyond the championships, honors and awards that show up in a biography, Lauren has navigated her learnings through the losses and failures that have defined her athletic career. As a young captain asked to lead a team into an Olympic Games there were many failed moments that created opportunities for immense growth, many conflicts that developed emotional intelligence to better serve her team, and innumerable losses that forced her to transcend beyond the score board to learn about long-term winning from a leadership perspective.

Since retiring from her athletic career, Lauren has found value in sharing her stories of failure by teaching people how to evaluate losing as a normal process and apply the lessons learned into the next “game”. Growth and development can be a painfully slow process but necessary to master in order to achieve high performance. Everybody wants to win - but the hard part is putting in the time to understand the processes and mindset behind winning and that is the foundation of Lauren’s learnings.

Lauren now works in the insurance industry where she applies the parallels between succeeding as a team athlete and succeeding as part of a sales team.
