My mum died in 2005 and once I became a mother myself, I've been reflecting on the lessons she taught, directly and indirectly. Using this as a blueprint, I've formed my own motherhood in a way the hopes to avoid making the mistakes that she did. I intend to give my children a childhood they don't need to heal from, and with that I share my insight and my experience.
Mothers, especially mothers of girls, this is for you!

In this episode, I reflect on the time that my mum died from cancer almost 13 years ago. I felt like a part of me died with her and this haunted me for years. This is an incredibly emotional episode, I literally couldn't hold back the tears and this is due to the nature of that loss. I can only hope that someone somewhere can find peace in my vulnerability in sharing this heartbreak. I can offer no real solutions or words of comfort because I know the pain is immense. Just know that eventually you will be okay.
It is likely I will do a follow-up episode. I'm just not ready to return to this space now.
-
In this episode, I share aspects of my self-love journey and how it has impacted my social circles.

In this episode, I focus on the importance of creating an environment you can write in.
I talk you through the different spaces I've tried and what works for me now. Being able to sit and write requires some discipline and concentration, so it helps to enter a space that allows you to do exactly that.
If you haven't found a comfortable space to write in, or an environment free of distractions, this episode is for you.
Keep in mind that I am a mother of two lively girls, with toys all over the place, laundry to do, dirty dishes calling to me and children to take care of, so creating a writing space separate from this had been essential!
Listen in.
