  • Hey there! This week’s tea talk features my cinnamon-apple tea and in the life update I discuss in person school and having a slower week. To introduce this week’s topic, I give a definition of romanticizing your life, where I discovered this ideology, and the structure for this episode. I then turn to my experience, where I describe my tricky relationship with romanticization, how I currently treat it, and how it has benefitted me. Next, I teach you how to apply this mentality: shifting your mindset into prioritising yourself! Afterward I look at two main limitations: not harming others and doing this for yourself. I conclude with some takeaways, talk about my favourite podcast, online creator, and song, before signing off.TO GET DIRECTLY TO THE CONTENT, SKIP TO 11:24FOLLOW THE PODCAST’S INSTAGRAM: https://instagram.com/theasteapodcast?igshid=r04b2760fkdlCONTACT ME THROUGH: theasteapodcast@gmail.com (for business inquiries, sponsorships or to tell me what you think about this podcast!)SEND ME A VOICE MESSAGE: https://anchor.fm/th351a-beaury/messageCHECK OUT THE DESIGNERS OF MY COVER ART: https://instagram.com/sofiarrublacreative?igshid=1xtsd1w69zkklhttps://instagram.com/cuerpobaldio?igshid=1jq5cb59nm2zSTART YOUR PODCAST NOW BY HEADING TO anchor.fmCHECK OUT THE THINGS I MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE (IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE):Listen to my episode on Routines (on Spotify): https://open.spotify.com/episode/4hTYLvBW5wtakANJHKyjJU?si=IdsvkK1kQGSj4rDTqOeFRAListen to my episode on faking it till you make it (on Spotify): https://open.spotify.com/episode/0UKmoKeea9YEJwBIuYXOra?si=KvHd7-jmQEa-JWoHm2EB_QListen to Snap Out Of It by Arctic Monkeys: https://youtu.be/H8tLS_NOWLsListen to Pretty Big Deal (on Spotify): https://open.spotify.com/show/1CETIiSdFtS2HXljd04CXX?si=ahVrLe60TiCqo_H1kOVWgwCheck out Aubri Ibrag’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/AubriIbragListen to White Walls by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (Ft. • Hey there! I begin this week’s episode with my tea talk (lemon cube in my pink mug) and a life update about in person school and TikTok. This week the conversation revolves around faking it till you make it, I give an introduction by stating the actual meaning of this quote and outlining the structure for this episode. Then, I talk about my experience: which major situation in my life saw this technique, what I think about it now, and how it is a tool for the future. Next, I debunk a few misconceptions, including hypocrisy, laziness and ineffectivity. Afterward, I teach you how to apply this method through three simple steps: identification, projection, and consistency. • Hey there! This week I begin with the regularly scheduled tea talk (lemon cube in an astronaut mug) and life update about falling off routines, career ideas, and social events. I start talking about authority by saying that I want to understand these interactions; I’ll be studying parents, teachers, and adults; investigating boundaries; questioning how accepting I am; and asking how we can have healthy relationships with those who have “power” over us. To analyse parents, I take a look at cases of asking parents for permission, boundaries and injustice. Thinking about teachers, I question workloads, personal relationships, and interactions outside of school. I dive into engaging with random adults and talk about my friends’ parents, conflicts between adults and kids, and exchanging with strangers. To wrap up, I answer my initial question by saying that respect (both to yourself, and those around you) should be your moral compass, that we’re all equally human, how we should express our concerns, and wondering if I’m just a big people pleaser. Before signing off, I read a lovely review from Sara.TO GET DIRECTLY TO THE CONTENT, SKIP TO 10:37FOLLOW THE PODCAST’S INSTAGRAM: https://instagram.com/theasteapodcast?igshid=r04b2760fkdlCONTACT ME THROUGH: theasteapodcast@gmail.com (for business inquiries, sponsorships or to tell me what you think about this podcast!)SEND ME A VOICE MESSAGE: https://anchor.fm/th351a-beaury/messageCHECK OUT THE DESIGNERS OF MY COVER ART: https://instagram.com/sofiarrublacreative?igshid=1xtsd1w69zkklhttps://instagram.com/cuerpobaldio?igshid=1jq5cb59nm2zSTART YOUR PODCAST NOW BY HEADING TO anchor.fmCHECK OUT THE THINGS I MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE (IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE):Restaurant: Búho Parrilla Entre PinosListen to my episode on Solving Problems Through Good Communication (on Spotify): https://open.spotify.com/episode/6shvRpGzrhr0Y0ZXSG0jZi?si=Nswf9VGfTbOPb0si4VlIdQIf you enjoyed this episode, you may be interested in my episode on Validation (on Spotify): https://open.spotify.com/episode/53iy3FZiBtQD14avRiD9R9?si=Ot-8gGD2QwSp75lC6clPNAListen to the Philosophize This! podcast (on Spotify): https://open.spotify.com/show/2Shpxw7dPoxRJCdfFXTWLE?si=NCTkAkVnT86qX98HQSXiKgCheck out Claudia Sulewski’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/ClaudiaSulewskiCheck out the store I got my headband from: https://instagram.com/macladama?igshid=154dd8n72grpoHERE ARE SONE QUOTES I LIKED FROM THIS WEEK’S EPISODE:12:52 = “How can we have healthy relationships with those who have power over us?”14:15 = “I had never been raised in a way to question what my parents told me”15:12 = “To what point should we listen to and obey what our parents tell us?”16:51 = “We can feel the need to place different limits, and when we’re doing that with a figure of authority, it can feel much more challenging”17:17 = “How valuable are my wishes and requests in this interpersonal relationship?”27:25 = “How can you carry a relationship with ex-teachers in a respectful way?”32:27 = “Kids need to learn to solve their own problems without their parents stepping in”36:41 = “We tend to think that adults are the ones who have all the responsibility, but, as younger people, we have responsibilities that adults don’t”38:03 = “We are all human beings, and we are all worthy, even if someone is older than you or has more titles that you”Thanks for tuning in, have a beautiful week!--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

  • Hey there! This month, I am joined by my good friend, Ousu! We kick this episode off, of course, with the tea talk (cinnamon-apple tea in green and pink mugs). Then, I ask Ousu a few basic questions to get to know her, revolving around how we met, general info, how she defines herself and her life philosophy. Next, we dive into music by how she got into it, how she has practiced it, what it means to her and how it has helped her. Afterward, we talk about Ousu’s manual art: her story with creation, inspiration, and activism. Since Sofía will major in literature, we cover why she writes, how she makes it so unique, what she wants to shed a light on, if she sees it as therapy, how she deals with writer’s block, and why literature is the major for her. To continue, we share our story with the quote “everything happens for a reason”, how we use it in struggles, why we believe this, what it means to us, where it comes from, and how it’s what we need to hear. Of course, Ousu and I talk about our friendship, how we don’t see or talk frequently, our families, bonding points, what we’ve learnt from our relationship, how we’ve helped each other in tough times, and how we’re there for one another. Finally, Sofi recommends two musicians and says where you can find her, before signing off. • Hey there! After a tea talk (cinnamon tea in a red mug) and a packed life update about traditions, growth, and going back to school, I continue my conversation on feminism! I begin with an introduction and sharing the structure for this episode. Next, I compare what I thought when I was younger and what I feel today. Then, I dive into sustaining why we should be heard: how we shouldn’t let ourselves be intimidated by men, how we have unique perspectives, and the importance of female role models. Afterward, I dissect the gap, and how we can overcome it: how feminism comes into play, pushing the limits, and being honest with ourselves. • Hey there! This week, I kick things off with my tea talk (homemade cinnamon tea) and a life update regarding visiting my family, pranks with my cousins, going to the lake, and my cat. I introduce my unhealthy relationship with school by saying how long it’s been going on, the balance between giving and receiving, learning how to rest, taking the time to address it, how many of us struggle with it, my use of the word “toxic”, and outlining the structure for this episode. To provide context, I walk you through my story: how I was an average student transformed after watching Gilmore Girls which pushed me to the breaking point, then, I bring you up to speed and explain where I am today. Afterward, I try to understand why today’s youth feels like this by taking a look at the standards we are set, including the need to get into a good college, pressure by parents, comparison with friends, and feeling like we must always prove ourselves. Next, I touch on balance and health with allowing yourself time out, coping with the lowering of grades, navigating strict boundaries and trying to find happiness. I think it’s important to make a commitment with myself towards stability, passion with education and success. • Hey there! This week I begin with my tea talk (lemon tea in an astronaut mug) and a life update about my week off, another physics dilemma, a testimony of improvement, and the music I’ve been studying to. I dive into perfectionism by acknowledging the inspiration for this episode, Sam Laura Brown, saying that I will speak from what I have seen in others and myself, and that a lot of us are perfectionists. Then, I explain what I thought perfectionism meant, and what it actually means, which made me realise I was a perfectionist! Next, I get into the all or nothing mindset: I state that it’s a perfectionist tendency, a popular saying we hear derived from it, how it holds us back from consistency, and my solution to it. Afterward, I focus on self sabotage: how this is another perfectionist tendency, an example, how this links to the all or nothing mindset, and that it stems from insecurity and limitations. Continuing, I share how perfectionists expect things to be effortless: what this implies, a personal example, and what I learned from that. I wrap up with the idea that perfectionism limits us. • Hey there! After this week’s tea talk (peppermint tea in a green mug) and my life update about debate, spending time with my family, physics, and interacting with friends, I talk about transitioning from the person you are to the person you want to be. To begin, I lay the foundations for this discussion, and explain that I’ll be covering the steps you can take to achieve your goals. I start talking about depicting your inspiration: the visual ways you can do this, what you should include, the range this groups, how your imagination comes into play, that you should let your mind run free, why this is so important and my personal examples. I divide the course of action in two, beginning with long term goals, where I say that you need to build consistent systems, stick to them, make them balanced and constant, why this is so valuable, and my personal examples. The other category involves short lived tasks, and I sustain that you just incorporate them in your to do lists, I stress how small these tasks are, what these habits will improve in your life, and my personal examples. Lastly, I say that you can start today, you don’t have to be all grown up, I share my personal examples and say why this is so valuable. I wrap up with a few main points, share my current favourite podcast, online creator, and restaurant, then proceed to read a review from Sofía Valencia and sign off.TO GET DIRECTLY TO THE CONTENT, SKIP TO 11:13FOLLOW THE PODCAST’S INSTAGRAM: https://instagram.com/theasteapodcast?igshid=r04b2760fkdlCONTACT ME THROUGH: theasteapodcast@gmail.com (for business inquiries, sponsorships or to tell me what you think about this podcast!)SEND ME A VOICE MESSAGE: https://anchor.fm/th351a-beaury/messageCHECK OUT THE DESIGNERS OF MY COVER ART: https://instagram.com/sofiarrublacreative?igshid=1xtsd1w69zkklhttps://instagram.com/cuerpobaldio?igshid=1jq5cb59nm2zSTART YOUR PODCAST NOW BY HEADING TO anchor.fmCHECK OUT THE THINGS I MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE (IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE):Listen to last week’s guest episode (on Spotify): https://open.spotify.com/episode/3ch0Y78IN4aNXoA2U5F3SE?si=EvSubdC1TLSR2hmOmUm6BgDownload Notion: Annonce·www.notion.so/Notion - Notes, Tasks, Wikis - The All-In-One WorkspaceHaven’t heard of the enneagram! • Hey there! For September’s bonus episode, I am joined by my uncle and aunt, David and Marisol! We start with the tea talk, where Marisol teaches us how to make her signature cinnamon tea. Then, we get to know them over the course of their childhood, teen years, and adulthood. Next, I ask them about their life philosophies, biggest struggles, achievements and goals. We talk about David and Marisol’s relationship regarding growth, challenges, weakness, raising kids, and advice for today’s youth. We dive into their role as uncle and aunt, where they explain how to create meaningful connections despite of age gaps, providing support, keeping close even with distance, and genuinely celebrating wins. We reminisce on their time living in Sweden, from the adaptation period, to their highs and lows, to returning. Finally, they recommend some TED Talks and Spotify playlists, before I say where you can find Marisol and part. • Hey there! This week, I start with a tea talk on my cinnamon-apple tea and a jam packed life update about burnout, journaling, being busy, WiFi, my spiritual retreat, driving, and becoming who I’ve always wanted to be. Then, I introduce this week’s conversation by clarifying how deep I can be, where the stories I’ll be sharing came from, and the dynamic I’ll be following. I share four stories about peanut butter, the bus, a piece of paper and rugs, paired with how I can see these metaphors and other examples of their application. I conclude with what I learned from those experiences and dive into my weekly favourites. • Hey there! In this week’s episode, after my tea talk and life update, I introduce the topic of growing up and the responsibilities that entails by stating the structure of how I’ll tackle it. Then, I give some context about how I think these responsibilities are either unspoken agreements or conversations I missed, touching on privilege and being stubborn. To follow up, I mention some examples of how I experienced falling behind, including cleaning, eyebrows, errands, and gifts. Afterward, I talk about what I could learn from that, from being proactive, to diversity, to gratitude! I wrap up this topic with some main points on surprises, the struggle with conforming, remembering my examples and emphasising the importance of being aware. Like, a timetable, or a to-do list... just really clear, specific things I could follow”21:50 = “We tend to have an all or nothing mindset, so I was like “okay, if I can’t do it perfectly, then I may as well not do it at all. It took me a while to drill these ideas into my head, even when I did know exactly what I needed to do, I tried to ignore it for the longest time and I was just so reluctant to it, because I felt like I wouldn’t be able to do it well, or to do it consistently, or I was just, I guess insecure about so many things that I preferred to just push it aside”23:34 = “I started spiralling and thinking about all of the adaptations that I would have to make for this and to just be able to keep up with it, again, I just scared myself out of it” 31:35 = “I think that I should have been more proactive. • Hey there! In this week’s episode I am joined by my friend Remy, host of the Pen to Page podcast, from the UK! We start by talking about our drinks for the day, then you get to know her a bit as she talks about her daily highlights, how we met, her life philosophy and her favourite person in the world. Afterward, we talk about her life: whether she’s an introvert or extrovert, what she’s been up to in quarantine, who she’s been with lately, and what she’s learnt from COVID-19. Next, we transition to talking about school, where I ask Remy how she feels about it, if she’s in any extracurriculars, what she wants to be when she grows up, any storytimes with teachers and what motivated her passion for this topic. Of course, I talked to Remy about the podcasting lifestyle: why she started, how she came up with the idea, how those in her life have reacted, the highs and lows it comes with, how she has been sharing her message and what she has learnt from it. • Hey there! Welcome to the twentieth episode of Théa’s Tea, where I begin with my tea talk, weekly update and current favourites! Today I dive into feminism, and how I live it on a day to day basis. To start, I mention my EF speech, which relates to this topic, mention why I feel the need to cover feminism, introduce my message for today: lifting other girls up, clarify that what I share can be applied to everybody, but with a focus on gender equality, and state that I hope this conversation is as if I were your big sister! Then, I share my opinion on girls hating on girls; I highlight negative tendencies we tend to display, emphasise that as we face inequality, we must build a strong front and remind you that positive deeds create a ripple effect. Afterward, I discuss the quote “a girl who is doing the same thing as you is not your competition, she’s your sister”; where I explain how this transformed me, the importance in my role models inspiring me to adopt this attitude, explain my journey and growth and reiterate that this can be applied to all genders. Also, I share the message that we shouldn’t be afraid to reach out; showing that I used to be very shy, and how I was able to grow from that to where I am today and remind you not to hesitate! To wrap up, I reiterate a few main points from the episode. • Hey there! In this week’s episode, after my usual tea talk, life update, and faves, I dive into a comparison between how other people view you VS how you do so. I start off by explaining why this is such an important topic, illustrating with the amount of energy we waste on this, how often we hear it, and how it shows us the importance of caution. Then I emphasise that we know ourselves best, which means that we must trust ourselves, remember that people only see a fraction of who we are, and contrasting with an observation that others can point things out which we don’t acknowledge.
