Starting with bold feminine pink pieces which were all made to order, since then it has evolved into a more grungy aesthetic.
KT shares her tips for pivoting, creating sell out launches, how to find the right influencers for your brand and how to get out of a negative cycle which so many founders face.

The 80/20 rule: 80% of your sales will come from 20% of your products so ‘If it’s ain’t broke, then don’t fix it.’ If you have a best seller, relaunch it in different colour ways and styles, don’t try to always reinvent the wheel.
The importance of going to see your manufacturers in person: you get things done quicker, you can build relationships, you can check that they fit in with your values and they are likely to work harder for you after you’ve made the effort to come and see them.
The power of taking a break and space from your business: sometimes the most productive thing you can do is pausing and taking a holiday to reignite the creativity in you and help you get out of a negative cycle.

Rani and Co started as a fashion brand in 2017 when Ramona started selling feminist clothing with slogans & selling jewellery on the side. The jewellery was doing really well and actually selling more than the clothes so in 2020, Ramona pivoted and turned it into a jewellery business.
She kept the feminist theme & included goddess and queen collections that routinely sell out and created a strong community of customers in the process.

Building hype around your new product launches. Creating excitement about who, when, where, why but saving the what until last. This creates the story first and gets people super excited.
Learning how to market your products. You must spend the majority of your time marketing your product, and learning how to sell it. Try everything and then you will work out what works best.

Today I’m joined by Nicola @ Press Loft! It’s the largest online PR tool that connects brands, PR and Digital Marketing agencies with journalists, bloggers and social influencers.
Back in 2006 Nicola needed a system to manage her clients' images for her PR Agency! Hosting images, influencer info & press releases all in one place allows journalists to access everything they need to feature a brand in an instant and as a result increases their press coverage results significantly.
I often struggle when people ask me about PR because it’s so time consuming & overwhelming that unless it’s a main focus for you can often provide little to no results. However with a tool like this, you can pretty much automate the process by uploading everything to Press Loft and then wait for the notifications to start pinging!
I have a really fun quiz for you to try out today! It's just 21 questions that will determine a score from 0-100 and you'll automatically receive a personalised audit of how your business is doing.

NOT THAT DEEP® is a spiritual streetwear brand focused around manifesting, law of attraction, spirituality and mindset. 'It's not that deep' became Sarah & Jason’s life mantra during the dark times which we touch on in this episode
The brand speaks to a community of people who want to enjoy the short time that we are here on earth by connecting with our spirituality, trusting the universe and not taking any of this shit too seriously - whilst wearing cosy AF, bold and colourful garms.
NTD is co-founded by husband and wife team Sarah and Jason Akwisombe.
In 2015, they began an online education business NO BULL BUSINESS SCHOOL, where they helped thousands of women start small businesses. After a wildly successful but rocky 2020, they decided to make their way back to creativity and found a way to combine their two loves - Streetwear and spirituality.
I worked with Sarah 1:1 back when I was too nervous to take the leap from the corporate world of fashion buying & sales! I loved her no bullshit attitude to giving advice so I thought if this is a shit idea - she will 100% tell me straight! She was incredibly supportive & encouraged me to go for it & I can honestly say I’m not sure I would have my own business today if it wasn’t for her!
Fun fact - the first time I ever met Sarah IRL in a cafe in Croydon (circa 2018) she told me she wanted her own streetwear label one day and here we are telling the story of how it came about!
In this episode we discuss :
Sarah’s varied career from music to beauty to coaching to streetwear
What the transition looked like going from a service based business to a product one whilst facing a PR drama (reminder not to believe everything you read online!)
How creativity can pull you out of a dark place
