This long overdue episode is with Jasmine MacLellan, mother of 3.
She tells the story of her identical twin girls and the many complications that arose (and went away) and others that followed. From a recommended termination of one to twin to twin transfusion to bedrest to pre-eclampsia to a premature delivery to two healthy babies!
This episode is short, sweet and such a great story!

This week's episode has a local guest, Nicole, sharing the story of her and her son, Oliver.
This story does deal with loss, grief and mental health struggles. It is powerful, truthful and an absolutely essential conversation. This story has a big impact and I thank Nicole and Oliver for bringing this to light.

This week's episode is Part 2 of the story of Hayley and Matias. We discuss her postpartum experience and recovery and how that led to her creation of a local business called The V. Coach, supporting folks in their perinatal period with fitness.
You can find Hayley on Instagram @the.v.coach and on Facebook by the same name.

This episode features Hayley Chapman, owner of the V. Coach and mother to Matias.
Content Warning: Hayley's story includes mention of bleeding during pregnancy, hyperemesis gravidum, and birth trauma/injuries.
Hyperemesis Gravidum is a medical condition during pregnancy that involves severe vomiting and nausea. It may lead to multiple complications (dehydration, weight loss, ketosis). It is often treated with Diclectin (which is essentially an antihistamine and a form of Vit. B6). Some times the treatment is effective, other times it is not.
If you have experienced birth trauma, please reach out! There are professionals who are trained to walk with you through your healing process.

Deborah Payge is originally from South Africa and is a very welcome addition to our wee island! She shares her four birth stories and what wild rides they were!
Deborah is a delight for the level of consciousness and compassion she brings to both her births and her parenting and life in general.
We talk birth stories, postpartum mood disorders and the power of surrender.
*Note: In this episode, we both refer to motherhood. We both identify as She/Her and that is our lived experience. In general, when speaking, inclusive language is always the default.*

This week we chat with Britney MacNeil.
She is one of my first doula clients (who I have had the honour of working with twice AND now consider to be one of my best friends).
She is one of the most delightful humans I know, for her genuine and honest way of showing up in the world, her vulnerability to share her struggles and successes and her willingness to really examine the parts of her that are difficult!
This episode is the story of her first pregnancy and delivery and postpartum period.
Next week is Part 2! Gabe's story!
The amount of wisdom, experience and growth that we have experienced together is powerful!

This episode is a rare solo one with just your host, Amber Dawn, sharing the birth story of Elijah River.
Born nearly 10 years ago in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.
This story is one that highlights some of the ways that birthing folks are not listened to and their body autonomy disrespected.
Healthy Parent, Healthy Baby should not be our only markers for a successful birth.
Did you feel respected? Did you feel heard? Did you feel involved in and able to make informed choices? Did you leave your birthing experience without trauma?
