Mike shares experiences from his haunted childhood home that could have stemmed from a possessed piece of art called "The Crying Boy" that the family owned a printed copy of. This piece of art is said to carry a curse. In 1985, a British tabloid newspaper ran a story on this. It stated that undamaged copies of these paintings were frequently found amongst the ruins of burned houses. This fits with Mike's experience because his father tried to burn the painting to end the strange happenings in the house, only to find out the painting could not be destroyed!
