Until his recent retirement, Lt. Colonel Carl J. Ohlson, Ph.D., CMPCwas the Assistant Athletic Director for Performance Psychology Services at Penn State University.<br>Prior to his work at Penn State, he served in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel, as well as an Associate Professor and the Director of the Center for Enhanced Performance (CEP) at the United States Military Academy, West Point.
A frequent speaker on applying sport psychology and student development strategies to a variety of contexts, Dr. Ohlson serves as an advisor to several think tanks and committees pursuing strategies for leveraging mental strength to enhance performance. He holds a membership in the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP), is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant, and currently serves on the Education Committee within the B1G Mental Health and Wellness Cabinet. He is also a certified instructor with the Professional Ski Instructors of America!
Carl holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy, a Master of Education degree from the University of Virginia, a Master of Science degree from the U.S. Air Force’s Air University, and a doctorate from The Pennsylvania State University. Robin became a full member of the Parachute Regiment in 1974 and served three tours of Northern Ireland. In 1978 he volunteered for SAS selection and passed on his second attempt in March 1979. He went on to qualify as a Paramedic and Sniper.
He was a member of the SAS counter terrorist team that assaulted the Iranian Embassy in London in 1980, helping to rescue the nineteen hostages who had been held for six days.

Paul is qualified as an ESP (Extended Scope Practitioner) and a university lecturer and teacher in the United Kingdom.
