The reigns are passed on. The shackles of responsibility are lifted. The burden of podcast creating is sub-contracted out for this month's episode as we hand over to the incredible talent at Hang in There Calendars! We will hear from Gordo "The Visionary" Foster, Eddie "The Fixer" Carpenter (photographer) and Joey "The Top" Monsoon (editor). They will be talking us through the varied and fascinating decisions behind some of their most incredible lines. Don't take out word for it, take theirs.
Album Recommendation of the Month: Blame My Ex - The Beaches (2023)
You want to get in touch, don't you? Your Mum said you do. At least that's what she told me. She told me you want to email or message those Tuna Boot boys. Well you can with the link below. While we're here, your mother thinks you don't phone enough. Having spent time with her, I understand why you would want to keep conversations to a minimum. She's quite a drab, bland and basically hopeless person. You must have ran out of things to say if you've brought up how you'd like to get in touch with a monthly random bollocks podcast. Wish you hadn't wasted that patter already? Don't worry. Just tell her again. Make shit up. She's far too dense to decipher the truth. Trust me.

Tuna Boot has taken to the digital airwaves with the first broadcast of their brand new radio show. Recorded on 27th January, 2024 and broadcast on Tuna Boot Digital. Go to www.tunabootdigital.co.uk to listen. Check our social media (https://linktr.ee/tunaboot) for information and show times!
Did it go well? Yeah, it did ACTUALLY! The boys stormed it, with guest producer Lou keeping everything ticking along smooth.
We had many discussions in the studio with features ranging from Thing You Know You Don't Know to What Would Your Boxing Nickname and Walkout Song Be. It was a blast. We also had emails from listeners entering a competition with their most Awkward Moments. Whoo! It lived up to the hype.
Dougal, Jim and Liam weren't the only voices you heard. We had help from Kellet McHandy for the News. Herbirt Kitson Kitson our star Weather Reporter. And Trite Harshifact with Travel. The best was saved until last with Colin Rogers who gave us some incredible fashion advice. Don't think this is the last you'll be hearing from him round these parts. To top it all off, we had some great tunes and ads.
Remember, Carmichael and Plemlin are still at large. Authorities have raised their wanted level internationally. Please be forthcoming with any and all information you may have.
That's it for now. In next month's episode we are handing over the reigns to the wonderful guys at Hang In There Calendars who will be taking us through the process of some of their most inspiring ranges. Thanks everybody!

It's the conclusion to a trilogy no one asked for, Liam invites us in for his new show "That's a Long Time Ago". Featuring a host of facts, dates and nonsense this is a bumper episode extravaganza. Dougal and Jim are pitted against each other daring to guess dates, while Liam slowly falls into drunkenness and cannot fathom how to end his own game. It's truly wonderful and all yours to enjoy in less time than it takes to get 2 hours away from your own home.

It's almost Christmas and what better gift could you get than the Tuna Boot boys releasing a brand new episode. This time Dougal takes the reins and tests Jim and Liam's knowledge of some well known film quotes, with a Christmassy twist. It's a rip roaring adventure through the most snow sodden of landscapes. Who will win? Does it matter? Why do you still listen to this podcast? Did Dougal really promise to do socials again and then not start doing them? Who the hell cares!

The agreesome threesome are back in action this week as season 7 ramps up a gear. Featuring 0% of the sound production of last month but 100% more Jim, this episode is a whale of a ride. Dougal and Liam are thrust into a game show Jim has came up with, trying to distinguish between fact and fiction. Who will emerge on top, with a better grasp of reality that t'other, only time will tell.

Welcome to the first episode of the "And a movie" Season of Tuan Boot - aka Season 7. It's been a long time coming (about a month) and now it's here!! So mosy on over, cosy on up and listen to theses wack-a-doodles like your lives depend on it.
This week on Tuna Boot
Take a journey into the heart of the Darlam Jungle with Bad Egg Jones (a kiwi/american/scottish Dougal), Alfonse Du Bonse and Seanery Conn, as they attempt an expedition into the Temple of Chastait. It's a oneshot D&D episode. Told you it was coming back... might not return again after Dougal's solo run at it to be perfectly honest.

Carve out a thirty minute slice of your day to listen to Jim clumsily read out loud!! Liam challenged the Tuna Boot boys to write one sentence a day for a year and create a short story. This is Jim's reading of Jim's story that Jim did...Jim. Yay, for Jim!!!!
It gets weird!

This is the last chance to see Dougal's play "The Lady of The Loch" which ends its run on Saturday 12th. The play has been voted one of the Top Ten Homegrown Shows to see at The Edinburgh Fringe 2023 by The Edinburgh Evening News. We're very proud of our boy! Less importantly, if you want to get in contact with us then you can. We do have some items in our lost and found box. Including a spare machete. Twelve hundred I.O.U's which all say 'A Hot Dinner' on them. Some debris from an attempted summoning of the dead (various small animal bones, a vial of blood and a cursed book of unearthly enchantments). The wall brackets from a flatpack shelf unit. Another, smaller lost and found box from a rival podcast (possibly stolen). A length of blue cloth. An Ipswich City Centre bus timetable. No ceramics of any kind. An empty jar. A half-full jar (contents TBD). A handwritten confession and a man called Dominic. So get in touch to claim any of these items by clicking here: https://linktr.ee/tunaboot

Liam has devised a brand new game. It involves making noises...Hearing is believing.
*AUDIO SOUND SONIC VOLUME WARNING*
Due to the sudden and loud nature of the game the audio volume will vacillate between being of hopefully a reasonable level to being a lot quieter. This is because there are explosions of sound and I didn't want anyone's eardrums to take a hammering. And, it is true, that in previous years I would have painstakingly went through the full edit and tweaked things with such precision that this warning would not be needed. However the thought of doing so now fills me with a dread I dare not name. I have lowered the parts where it goes berserk but it may not be as seamless as it should be. This is Jim, taking full responsibility. Thank you for your patience and enjoy the show!
I would also like to take the time to pat myself on the back for not putting one of the others' names in there. Hooray for comedic restraint!

Get your denim and your oversized jumpers on (and whatever those hats are called (on)) because it's time to discuss all things 90's!!! Although mostly music.
Jim attempts (and somewhat fails) to make an interesting point about how decades change every 10 years. Or something. This is Jim typing right now and even after listening to it I'm not quite sure what I was on about. I also keep saying "you're hard" which is annoying. I generally feel like I'm being annoying in these episodes so just a warning.
The latter half is generally quieter because things turn into a singing guessing game. We have to sing songs when Dougal prompts us with some lyrics. Again, I can only apologise for my efforts. But I'm sure it won't spoil the fun. Danny and Lou are on top form as well as always. And the other two lads do just fine...Bucket hats! I meant bucket hats. I'm hard!*

If you remember the 90's, or even if you don't - if you remember the 90's you weren't really there, am I right? I was absent for the first 3 years as a direct result of not having been born yet - then please get in touch with these links below! And go and see Dougal's show while you're at it!

*"I'm hard" was a reference to my stupid joke (which I actually stole from a line in a Tim Key book, so not only am I an irritant but a thieving irritant) where I say "you're hard" after anyone makes a statement. It was not a reference to any tumescence which may or may not have taken place. Thank you.

Holy f****ng s**t we've been f*****g going for 3 years!!! Mad, eh! And we kick off the celebrations with stories of responsibility for children in our workplaces. Then we all literally phone each other. Discussions on being kicked by horses. Then Danny lets us know his favourite Tuna Boot episodes from our immense and horrifying back-catalogue. Where do love hearts come from? We also get to the bottom of that. It's actually not that shit this week. Rate us 5 Stars!

A nice feel-good ep. Basically, Jim was far too exhausted and terrified to edit the proper full episode this week. So it's just him talking to himself on his walk home from work. Apologies for sound issues/quietness. This isn't a vintage episode. If this is your first time to Tuna Boot we assure you it's usually different. Better? Difficult to say. But different certainly. There is at least one funny bit sneaked in.

It's a secret episode, the 6th one. Any it's nothing of what was promised. I was busy alright... but Dirk Shingles PI, Zombie Survivor and Letter Charrier is here to save the day... 10 minutes at a time.
The album of the week is actually singles:
Hozier - Eat Your Young, Francesca & Unknown/Nth.
If you want to complain about this episode, you can by following this link right here: https://linktr.ee/tunaboot.

Here it is, what you've all been waiting for... the fifth instalment of our secret episodes.
This time we're doing something different, and it involves a tiny little bit of dead air here and there. I would heartily suggest sticking through it all as you'll catch some very peculiar and extremely funny noises. If you would rather skip all that, you can jump to straight to 33m15s for the grand finale. This would, however, make the episode exactly 11 minutes long, and would deprive you of that sweet, beautiful context that I'm sure you all crave. The intro will explain it all. Enjoy.
The album of this week: Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation
Dougal's starting to get annoyed that his socials aren't reaching the population of Papua New Guinea yet. Send them to any friends you have over there: https://linktr.ee/tunaboot.
Question of the week: Turtles, what would you rename them?

This week continues our look into the mental breakdown of Dougal as he reads things Jim and Liam sent him.
I just noticed that Jim reads emails was our 3 year anniversary episode... So with very little left to describe I'll say thanks for listening to us for over 3 years now. Maybe we will catch the 200th episode. It's only 41 episodes away now.
As I type this I've just found out the A900 to Leith is closed...may God have mercy on us all. In future I'll probably mute the notifications on the computer. At least it's sunny. There's also another Drew's Diary entry at the end of this one.
Album of the week is an EP and that EP is Duality by Swim School.
