Some described difficulty making their own decisions in everyday life; some described a lasting fear of dogs, who Tony Alamo called "evil beings who would weaken children's hearts." Others came forward with stories of spiritual, sexual, and physical abuse. This week, we dive into the human toll of the Alamo Christian Foundation.

A search into Biblicist Christianity started when Jada sent me a link to an article titled, “A Christian Husband’s Guide to Grooming His Young Wife”. What started as a quick Facebook message turned into a four-hour rabbit hole combing through a website that made me want to gouge my eyes out. So that’s what we are talking about today on the podcast.

Twenty-seven years ago, on February 28, 1993, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms agents attempted to execute a “dynamic entry” into the compound of The Branch Davidians at Mount Carmel.
The failed operation then turned into a 51-day standoff. During that time, Koresh and most of his followers had refused to leave the compound, which was surrounded by tanks, armored vehicles, and more than 600 federal agents. The standoff ended when a fire engulfed the complex on April 19, 1993. Only nine people inside survived.
This week, we are talking about the Waco Siege that turned into a massacre.

Most people can tell you what happened on April 19, 1993, in Waco, Texas when law enforcement laid siege to the Branch Davidian compound. Eventually, the FBI launched an assault and initiated a tear gas attack in an attempt to force the Branch Davidians out of the ranch. Shortly thereafter, the Mount Carmel Center quickly became engulfed in flames. The fire resulted in the deaths of 76 Branch Davidians, including 25 children, two pregnant women, and the current leader, David Koresh. But how were the Branch Davidians formed? That’s the topic for today’s episode.
