Wendy who you’ve seen on my social media, heard me talk about endlessly, and might know as Wendy Toxin-Free-Ish she’s an environmental toxins attorney turned clean living coach, (can you tell I listen to your podcast Wendy?!) whose lifelong dream to save the world has pivoted into saving families from the toxins found in our everyday products that are making us sick, unhealthy, uncomfortable, and overall unwell.

Abbie is such a gem to me for many reasons. 1: her chart is FULL of Cancer so she is just the sweetest and kindest and more adorable human ever 2: she such an intentional mother, wife, and friend. I’m constantly taking notes for when it comes to raising children and embracing the role of mother. 3: Her artistic skills and creativity blow me away since I didn’t inherit the art gene from ANYONE in my family despite the fact that I’m surrounded by artists of all kinds and 4: because I know I can always talk to her and feel like I’m having a silly, goofy late night middle school girl sleepover conversation with her. You are about to listen to an enlightening, silly, inspiring, and uplifting conversation with my dear friend Bryan Martin who YOU might know on social media as @sealionbryan, the joyful man who dances every morning on social media to continuously bring joy into his life and to remind you to add a little joy into yours.
I was blessed enough to meet Bryan on a trip that we worked hard to earn to Young Living’s Finca Botanica farm in Ecuador. This is where not only we made our first connection in person, but also shared quite a few experiences that… made us EMOTIONALLY closer. Since then we have been buds and I’m just thrilled for you to also experience why I love him so dearly.
Bryan is many things, has expertise in many things, experienced many things, and I would never want to put him in a box; what he has to offer the world and those close to him is wildly expansive and could never be put into a few sentences. However today we will be focusing on grief and the loss of his father and then his partner Clayton years ago, what it means and looks like to walk through grief, how he was able to see the light again with the help of family, dear and special friends, social media followers, and Plant Magic, and what his life has beautifully transformed into now.
Oh and we will be touching on his spiritual gifts. I’ve gotta add a little woowoo to as many episodes as I can!

Have you ever thought about writing a book? Was your family disappointed in you when you chose to major in English in college? Do you have a soft spot for gargoyles? The guest today is not a first timer and is my cousin, bestie, and sister, Rachel Reh. Rachel was one of my first podcast guests when I was still figuring this stuff out and she graciously sat with me to talk about our experience in college as roommates, what is was like living with a Witch (spoiler alert, Rachel was also Pagan at the time so it wasn’t as shocking as one might think), and was all-t---eager to hop on the show with me again today!
Rachel has had an inclination toward writing for as long as we’ve known how to read. She’s always been working on some poem, writing some short story, writing some paper or analysis or commentary on politics, pop culture, a book she read, her interested, etc. and today, among SO many other things, we talk about where she is today after completing the first draft of a real actual book, what the writing process is like, what lies ahead, and what tips and advice she has for other aspiring writers.

Today you’ll be hearing from Daniel John, a spiritual medium and follower of Jesus. Daniel connected with his mediumship abilities in 2017 and, like many of you, went through a period of questioning these abilities and this spiritual world and if it could even coexist with what he had been taught by the church his whole life.
After scouring the Bible, reading all translations, reading both gospels in the Bible and the ones that were left out, and most importantly praying and connecting with Jesus and the Holy spirit through these times, he’s been able to reconcile and not only find peace in these gifts alongside his faith, but GIVE peace and restore faith to others as a medium of God.
Daniel and I were connected through a mutual friend, shoutout Mary Grace!, and it was a match made in heaven. Over and over again he stated beliefs that I repeat constantly when asked about my own relationship with Jesus and spirituality and he breaks down how spirituality and the teachings of Jesus coexist seamlessly.
Now, I know there might be a handful of you listening to this intro getting ready to tune out and stop playing because the thought of someone being a follower of Jesus and a spiritual medium has been taught to you as something that CERTAINLY cannot exist and is clearly demonic. But, I encourage you to try to listen with an open heart and mind; after all, progress and empathy and compassion cannot be cultivated if we close ourselves off to those who live differently from us and especially not when we choose to continuously put God into a “box”.
Many of what Daniel speaks about I align with wholeheartedly, some things I still need to discover or research for myself. You’ll likely find yourself in the same boat. But when it comes to this cognitive dissonance, pray about it. We as Christians should have some foundational beliefs in common, but we are all convicted in different ways as we all are on different God-given journeys. What the Holy Spirit restricts for you might be open and encouraged for me. Rely on the discernment that was given to you.

The guest on our show today isn’t one you’ve heard of (unless you already know her personally) and she’s not one with a large social media following or online newsletter. However, she is one of the most important people in my life.
Why? Well, sometimes people ask me some version of “Suzy, why are you the way that you are?” in the kindest way possible.
How are you so positive, how are you so happy, how are you so vulnerable, how are you so nonjudgmental? When asked these questions about distinct parts of my character, three people come to mind, mentors if you will, who began, molded, shaped, and perfected the aspects of Suzy.
One of them is Kathleen Kraft. In retrospect, she was absolutely a huge female mentor and energetic expander, but back in the day, my mind could only see her as my babysitter, the girl who watched me, picked me up from school, and took me to volleyball practice when I was too old to have a “babysitter” but also had two working parents who couldn’t carry out these tasks.
I really can’t wait for you to listen to Kathleen who is the embodiment of grace, who for, as long as I can remember, has faced people, ideas, and hardships with a sense of awe and wonderment where the average person would have delved into anger and judgement.
She informed the way I view religion and various faiths, romantic relationships, my body image, and my view of people who choose to live lives vastly different from my own.
The impact that she had on my life can’t be put into words and I’m truly saddened that she wasn’t your mentor too.
But hey, maybe you DID have a wonderful mentor growing up who was just like Kathleen, be sure to reach out and thank them for the role they played in shaping your identity.
And if you didn’t have a mentor like Kathleen, I know you’ll gain a bit of wisdom and an expanded heart and mindset through this conversation.
