Wishing you all a very Happy New Year. January is when all of us are excited and charged up with setting new goals for the year, and some start planning their new year resolutions. One thing I am sure of is that everyone would have at least one goal or resolution around their well-being and health.
Joining me today to delve into the topic of longevity is Dr. Marcus Ranney who is the founder of Human Edge Enterprises. He recently authored the book “At the Human Edge” which looks at human physiology and extreme sports and is also on the verge of launching a cutting-edge digital platform by the same name.

The skin is our body’s largest organ. Taking care of our skin is equally as important as our other organs. But having good skin also means proper maintenance to help it reach its full potential.
Our skin goes through a lot as we age. Between being exposed to different environmental conditions and sometimes lack of care, our skin starts showing signs of aging. While there are some things we can do to protect our skin, sometimes it takes an expert like a dermatologist.
Dermatology is a branch of medicine dealing with skin, hair, and nail diseases. It covers both medical and surgical aspects. It can be subdivided into Core Dermatology (deals with skin diseases), Cosmetology (treatment of skin appearance), Trichology (study of hair disorders), and Dermatosurgery (the practice of skin surgeries).
To delve deeper into this topic, I invited Dr. Falguni Shah, founder of Radiance Skin Clinic to share her insights. Her clinic caters to several celebrity patients from India and abroad. Over years, she has strived to bring science to the world of beauty and has taken specialized training in Lasers and Advanced cosmetic procedures from leading dermatologists and cosmetologists in Australia, Brazil, Singapore, US, and Thailand.

As per the WHO, Palliative care is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients (adults and children) and their families who are facing problems associated with a life-threatening illness.
The need for palliative care has never been greater. Non-communicable diseases like cancer are on the rise. At present, in India, we have around 30 lakh people with cancer at any given time. Of these, 75-80 percent come with advanced disease and half of them die within a year. Yet no more than 2 percent receive palliative care because of the paucity of services.
To share more insights, I invited Dr. Vidya, a well-respected physician in the field of Palliative Care as the guest on my show today.

It seems like everyone we know is struggling with daytime fatigue. But how do we know if our “tired” is due to bad sleep hygiene v/s a serious sleep disorder?
If we feel tired or unrefreshed after waking up even though we have had a full night of sleep, most likely it may be due to sleep apnea.
Sleep apnea is a potentially serious sleeping disorder when your breathing stops and starts repeatedly in your sleep.
To throw more light into this I have invited highly esteemed robotic sleep apnea surgeon, Dr. Vikas Agrawal. He has been the past President of the Indian Association of Surgeons for Sleep Apnea (IASSA) and is presently the Chairman of the Committee for sleep disorders at the Indian Academy of Otolaryngology and Head Neck Surgery (IAOHNS). He is the Director at the Specialty ENT Hospital also the visiting ENT consultant at Seven Hills Hospital.
In our today’s podcast show, Dr. Vikas Agrawal discusses the methods of diagnosing and treating sleep apnoea in both adults and children.
