  • This week on the Unreal Results Podcast, I dive deep into the complexities of restoring knee flexion following an injury or surgery. This is a topic that I know all too well as I spent many days in PT having my knee forced into flexion and well, I still don’t have full knee flexion. In this episode, I talk about some of my favorite techniques that don’t require you to force your patient into tears to help them achieve full knee flexion. You’ll hear me discuss some of my favorite approaches including the “standard” hands-on techniques with the typical biomechanical lens of view. But you know it wouldn’t be an Unreal Results episode if I didn’t talk about the holistic side of things including how specific visceral and neural influences can affect the knee as well as the importance of hydration. This is a can’t miss episode for all of my healthcare providers who want to help their patients with treatment techniques that stick from session to session without endlessly repeating them every session.

  • This week on the Unreal Results podcast, I talk about one of my favorite topics - the Gillet SI joint test. Gillet’s test or sometimes known as the March test or Stork test, is typically known for having poor reliability based on previous research. If you’ve been following along for some time, you probably know that said research likes to get thrown around by the EBP police when I make posts on social media. But the often overlooked part of these research studies is that they have lots of flaws and limitations. Make sure you tune into this episode as I break down why the studies on the Gillet test aren’t the best and why I think the SI joint is innately difficult to assess with only one test.

  • In this week’s episode of the Unreal Results podcast, I talk about recognizing and responding to red flags in patient care. First and foremost, this topic is important to me because this is what happened with my mom’s cancer diagnosis, which I talked all about in episode 1 of this podcast. You’ll also hear me talk about the importance of referring your patient to a specialist and how to do that appropriately to ensure comprehensive care for the patient. • Welcome back to the Unreal Results Podcast! After a little summer hiatus, I’m back to recording new weekly episodes. In this particular episode, I talk about what I’ve been up to these past 6 weeks including working with one of my closest athletes, my birthday celebrations, and some personal health issues. But the main topic for today’s episode revolves around the body’s compensation mechanisms and how healthcare & movement providers should not fixate on them. You’ll hear why I believe compensations are actually great for the body, but more importantly how utilizing the LTAP™ for an individualized assessment is way more important for the treatment you provide, whether it’s to address the compensation or not.

  • For this week’s episode of the Unreal Results podcast, I’m throwing it back to episode 28, The Power of the Trigeminal Nerve. This is legitimately one of my favorite episodes, which yes, I know I say that a lot, but what I talk about in this clip can be tremendously helpful for your practice if you don’t know this information. In this episode, I talk about how the trigeminal nerve is more than just a sensory nerve to portions of the face and innervates the masseter, but also its role in the parasympathetic nervous system. I break down the anatomy of the trigeminal nerve and relate that to cranial and spinal nerves, headaches, and nervous system tension throughout the body. I truly believe that this information could truly improve the outcomes that you get with your patients.

  • In this episode of the Unreal Results podcast, I’m talking about a topic that’s been on my mind as of late: the connection between the menstrual cycle and ACL tears. First & foremost, I truly believe that everyone, including non-healthcare providers & men, should understand the menstrual cycle and how it affects the body’s hormones. I challenge the general assumptions made about ligament laxity and when ligamentous injuries frequently occur by analyzing what’s actually happening during the menstrual cycle. I also talk about ALL of the ways that female athletes can reduce their risk of ACL tears and other ligamentous injuries. I hope that you’re able to have some excellent takeaways from this episode and share them with anyone that has a female in their life!

  • In this episode of the Unreal Results podcast, I talk about the connection of the thoracic cavity, most notably the lungs, and its impact on athletic performance, particularly during allergy season. I specifically talk about a case study with an athlete of mine who was dealing with foot pain and how the LTAP lead me to treating his lungs, ultimately resolving his foot symptoms. I also give detailed techniques for treating restrictions in the lungs, including bronchial tube stretching.
