This is a re-release of a previous Patreon-Exclusive from a couple years ago!

In this episode, we'll chat about quite a few topics related to cannabis. All the way from the more scientific and 'mundane' side in the muggle/nerd segment,  to the spiritual and very magical side in the spiritual segment.

And then we have our recurring segments. In the coven corner, I answer two messages sent in from you guys, and then in podcast community I'll talk to you about some more harry potter podcasts, and of course my favourite canna-centric podcasts.

You can submit more questions for the coven corner, or request a tarot reading, or a custom crocheted item either through my blog’s ask box, or email me at [email protected]

All the links mentioned in the show are below, including a great page from some of my favourite herbalists. Have a magical 420!

  • In this short episode, I talk through coming up the card placements for this month's Patreon tarot spread. It's  early spring, which means it's Spring ephemeral time! Spring ephemerals bring out a LOT of foragers, new and experienced alike. And with the huge spike in popularity this year, it got me thinking about responsible foraging and how we might apply the same lessons to our own lives.

  • This episode is all about a universal favourite food: bread! And lots of kitchen witchery goodness! This was originally a Patreon exclusive, so here's the link to the original Show Notes!

    - Secret Feminist Agenda episode 2.26 Getting Deeply into Sourdough with Emily Hoven

    Intro - Magical Bread

Wild Yeast Starter as House Spirit

Preheating the Oven - Start from where you're at

Combining your Ingredient - Building your Spell

    Kneading - Ancestor Work

    Rising/Proofing - Something from Nothing

Slashing Sigils - Control and Growth

    Baking - Elemental Alchemy

    Closing - Manifestation

Here's some more bread resources that I didn't mention in the episode!

Cooked ep. 3, Air on Netflix  A fantastic show, that is basically elemental kitchen witchery without meaning to be. This episode is all about bread and air!

This is the recipe I use for my basic white loaves, except I use traditional dry yeast instead of instant, and just activate the yeast beforehand. I haven't tried it with wild yeast though! Paul Hollywood's White Bread Recipe

  • In the Bleak Midwinter, based on the poem A Christmas Carol by Christina Rosetti, composed by Gustav Holst, lyrics adapted by Laura Deal Raeder.

In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind makes moan.

Earth stands hard as iron, water like a stone.

Snow has fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow.

In the bleak midwinter, it is ever so.

Darkness now surrounds us as the nights grow long,

Yet we fill the night time with our hopeful song.

Winter’s cold won’t reach us here, where we light our fire,

As we burn the old year on its funeral pyre.

Now the new year beckons, even in this night.

Soon the days will lengthen, and our hearts grow light.

Hope will grow within us as we look ahead,

And we see that spring wakes out of winter’s bed.

Light will follow darkness, as the earth turns round,

Sunlight follows moonlight, thawing frozen ground.

So our lives renew with every dawning day,

And with every new year, blue skies follow gray.

  • This month, we continue looking at greenwitching through a practical lens with a chapter of The Reference Book all about ingestible herbal preparations. Teas, tinctures and elixers, oh my! And then I introduce a new kind of tarot segment, Tarot as a Sacred Text, inspired by Harry Potter and the Sacred Text. We begin with the sacred reading practice, lectio divina. There will be a longer conversation and journey through the idea process available to all patrons as a bonus episode very soon! Plus, in between the segments, I have a fun announcement of an interview I was featured on!

  • I recorded this episode a while ago, and was set to publish it this past week, but I didn't feel right about publishing content that didn't address what's going on. And last week especially, your podcast feed was better served by being filled with the voices of people of colour. The main body of this episode doesn't talk about the current protests, but I do talk about it in the preamble that I recorded edited in.

See the complete Show Notes here!

  • Hello, friends! And welcome to this episode of Witchcraft for the Restless.

Since recording this, just a week ago, I've gone from just one client in isolation to all but two. So if you could toss a couple of coins my way, or towards others who are relying solely on our communities to get by right now.

This episode is four unrelated segments because I am /restless./

    Episode Segments:

    1. Magical and Mundane; magical uses of everyday or random items. In this edition, we chat about crochet hooks.

    2. The Reference Book; witching 101, introductions to basic concepts. Correspondences and Spell Formulation

    3. The Restless Witch’s Garden in the Shade; gardening updates, lessons and tips. This time, we cover seed starting!

    4. Ointments, Salves and Liniments, Topical Witching for our Times. A little bit about the corona virus, how I’m tackling semi-isolation and what you can do during this uncertain time.

  • Hello, friends! And welcome to another episode of Witchcraft for the Restless.

In this episode, we chat about sex, magic and sexy magic.

Trigger Warning: This episode talks about sex and mentions sexual assault and pedophilia in passing. If you don’t feel that you’re at a safe place to be able to process those things right now, that’s completely okay and I’ll be here for you in the next episode

In muggle studies, we'll talk about how society has shaped how we culturally interact with sex, and other non-magical aspects of sex. In the spirituality segment, I'll go over a few different ways that you can incorporate sex into your magical practice. In the Witch's Cupboard this episode is our earthy friend, patchouli.  And then we have a joint Coven Corner and Podcast Community segment about my favourite sex positive podcasts and some specific and relevant podcast episodes.

  • Hello, Friends! Welcome to all you wonderful, restless, witchy people!  This episode is an introduction to me and my practice, a chat about tradition and ritual, how it can centre us, and some ways that you can incorporate some traditions and ritual into your life.

And then we have our recurring segments. In RestlessWitch’s Community (now called Coven Corner), I answer an ask about what energy feels and looks like to me. In podcast community, I share some of my favourite podcasts and what i’ve been listening to this week. This week’s Witchcraft segment features the California poppy and in the Restless segment, I’ll tell you about my current crochet project. And we’ll close with a tarot reading that will advise us on how to reach our goals.
