  • This week on The Wrestling Fan Wrestling Show, our Big Beefy Bai Shane sits down with a true Irish original, former wrestler Mike Wall, better known as Conor Hurley—the wrestler who was also a hurler!

Hailing from Kilkenny, Conor’s journey into wrestling began with Irish Whip Wrestling, and just three months later, he made his debut in his hometown on the same card as none other than Sami Zayn! Much like Bret Hart was loved in Canada and hated in the U.S., Conor was the biggest babyface in Kilkenny but despised everywhere else in Ireland—all thanks to Kilkenny’s unstoppable run in the All-Ireland titles.

In this episode, Conor shares stories from his time in the ring, including bouts with former WWE stars and his experiences wrestling alongside some of the great Irish talents. He’s held titles abroad and even had talks of a TNA tryout.

But Conor’s story isn’t just about his time in the ring—it’s also about how he helped Shane get into wrestling. Conor played a huge role in Shane’s early days, driving him from Kilkenny to Baldoyle for training sessions. The two shared countless miles on the road, collecting rings and setting them up at shows all over the country. And as Shane progressed, it was Conor who handed over his first-ever wrestling spandex.
