For example, we note how GOP candidate Donald Trump has been experiencing for some time now that transiting Pluto’s been causing others to adjust how they view his potential return to the White House, & how transiting Uranus is resulting in sudden changes to his reputation out in the world.
Likewise, we note where the beginning of this month’s lunar cycle fell in his chart, & how to interpret this based on what he’s being asked to release now at this Aquarius Full Moon. If the word “self-aggrandizement” doesn’t say it all, then I don’t know what does, lol…
In addition, given the current buzz about Trump’s declining mental acuity, we review how transiting Neptune has affected this from the astrological point of view. And that astrology proves that Trump has, in fact, been experiencing mental decline since May 2019. Why? Because that’s when transiting Neptune in his 7th H of partnership squared his natal 10th House Gemini Uranus--causing him to be somewhat out of touch with reality, as evidenced by his “big lie” following his 2020 presidential election loss.
Transiting Neptune then went on to square his nodal axis spanning his 4th to 10th Houses—the effects of which this podcast defines in greater detail. Transiting Neptune then squared his 4th House Sagittarius Moon, & finally his 10th Gemini Sun, & all of this took place between 2019 & 2023.
The proof is in the pudding, as they say, & it’s clear from the astrological point of view—especially since frictional Neptune aspects can often result (especially for someone in their seventies) in “confusion, illusion, & delusion”--that Trump has become more and more cognitively impaired during this time period.
Meanwhile, we take a similar look at Kamala Harris’s chart, her sudden rise to the democratic candidacy since July 21’s Capricorn Full Moon, & her subsequent rise in popularity. We note how this Aquarius Full Moon makes positive aspects to her natal Sun & Moon, how it lands on her natal Mars/Saturn/Jupiter T-square & how transiting Uranus liberates her now to break free from old constraints--but in accordance with her natal slow & steady wins the race astrologically-oriented personality.

First we review what went down during the balsamic period of last month’s lunar cycle, then discuss the August 4 Leo New Moon & Mercury’s station retrograde in Virgo from the lens of the upcoming American presidential election.
Could it be that Mercury retrograde in Virgo asks us to reevaluate our attitude toward whether or not a woman can be president? Especially given that Virgo’s traditionally an archetypal sign representing, among other things, the girl next door & “the virgin” (which of course applies to females and not males in this patriarchal world we’ve been living in for so long.)
Next we look at the energies inherent in the upcoming new synodic cycle when Mars meets Jupiter in Gemini & Mercury retrograde reenters Leo August 14. Will our gung ho attitude be slowed by Mercury Rx AND frustrated since Mars also squares Saturn in Pisces late on August 14/early August 15?
And might this frustration relate to resistance (Saturn) to the motivation (Mars) to electing a female as the head of state here in the U.S.? And might such resistance prove frustrating to many who support electing the first American female head of state? As always, however, Mars/Saturn frustration is best relieved by slow, concentrated, hard work!
Next we turn our attention to the upcoming repeat of Mercury retrograde in Leo square to Uranus in Taurus & the Leo Sun’s conjunction with Mercury retro in Leo—on August 18. We might remember this Mercury direct square to Uranus just after the July 21 Capricorn Full Moon & how the world was rocked by President Joe Biden’s sudden announcement he was dropping out of the presidential race.
So, what will it be this time? And might it be related to the scare the world felt when the stock market took a sudden dive on August 2 (given that Venus squared Uranus that day) and then continued its downward movement as Venus quincunxed Pluto August 5 (signifying the need for an adjustment?)
So, might the August 18 Mercury Rx/Uranus square & Leo Sun/Mercury Rx conjunction lead us to a repeat of some sort of sudden, possibly shocking announcement? Perhaps related to the announcement of an interest rate drop by U.S. Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell BEFORE the expected date in September--especially since Venus squares Jupiter August 18 too?

JOIN SHERI HORN HASAN @KARMIC EVOLUTION DOT COM for this week’s “Karmic Evolution’s Astrologically Speaking!” podcast which drops today, We discuss all the Astro News You Can Use, including repercussions of the July 11/12 Venus/Pluto opposition & what decisions we’re facing now at this first quarter lunar square of the Libra Moon to the Cancer Sun!
First it pays to remember that the Gemini New Moon monthly lunar cycle--which spanned from June 5 until July 5--& marked by a Sun/Moon/Venus in Gemini square Saturn in Pisces, asked us to plant seeds related to discussing who or what we truly value. And the June 21 Capricorn Full Moon called us to release any tendencies toward infantile behavior of clinging to the past--purely out of habit—rather than entertaining a more serious point of view.
However, since the Cancer New Moon July 5--teamed again with Venus but in mutable T-square to Virgo Juno, the goddess asteroid of partnership opposite Saturn in Pisces—asked us to plant seeds that might allow us to decide whether to break, or stay, with current partnerships.
Now, the first quarter monthly lunar square of the Libra Moon to the Cancer Sun July 13 urges us to decide where we stand on this issue. In other words, the challenge now is to decide (and we know that the Libra archetype often can be extremely indecisive) whether to align with the emotional past or look forward more realistically to the future.
Since the Libra Moon opposes wounded healer Chiron & Eris (the dwarf planet of chaos, discord, & strife) in Aries, while the Cancer Sun squares them both—forming a cardinal T-square--we may find an awful lot of, well, chaos surrounding our partnership decisions right now.
Our challenge is to push through this energy with a realistic eye toward the future. This is especially true since we’re headed for Mercury’s quincunx to Saturn (mental adjustment to reality), an exact Cancer Sun’s cardinal square to Chiron in Aries (the wounded leader?), & the Mars/Uranus exact conjunction at 26-degrees 19-minutes of Taurus--all on July 15!
As we already know, Uranus in Taurus for the past six years has taught us that the more we resist change, the more sudden & shocking change will be when it arrives, seemingly out of the blue. And in Taurus, change means in reevaluating what we truly value, i.e., our most precious resources, be they our personal relationships, health, finances, etc., or Mother Earth more generally…
The first sign of this comes with Venus’s move into Leo & the subsequent Venus/Pluto Rx opposition from Leo to Aquarius July 12.
We look as well at the repercussions of Saturn & Neptune retrograde thus far, the fact that the upcoming second Capricorn Full Moon on June 21 will bring the repeat the basic message: To let go of the past and deal more realistically with plans for the future.

Given the current state of the nation, it’s time to review both its past and its future—especially within the context of the triggering of our first exact Pluto return, which perfected initially on February 20, 2022 & whose effects are still being felt now. The fact that America is now in a long-term state of transformation is, at this point, undeniable, and the only questions now are how long will this transformational period last & what will be the end result?
It seems impossible to deny that the United States of America, a Cancer Sun nation, is having a recurrence of the energies of the late 1770’s since transiting Pluto first returned to its natal place on February 20, 2022 & it repercussions are still being felt. To prove this, we need only look at the major Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity issued on July 1--during the waning portion of the previous Gemini New Moon cycle--which essentially anoints a U.S. president a king.
Given that this is what the original colonists fought against during the American Revolutionary War—which lasted from 1775-1783—it would seem we’ve been thrust back in time to relive a similar situation now.
Is it possible the current state of chaos & confusion related to the upcoming November 5 U.S. presidential election is the result of an undeniably disastrous June 27 debate performance by President Biden two days before Saturn stationed retrograde on June 29 & less than a week before Neptune's station retrograde July 2? Well, it certainly seems these heavenly retrogrades have thrust this nation back into a crisis of wondering who will lead us through not only current, but future, crises & whether that person is up to the job…
We look in this podcast as the prescient writing of NY-based astrologer Michael Lutin, who wrote in the December 2006 issue of Vanity Fair Magazine that as transiting Pluto in Capricorn reconjoined its natal position in the U.S. birth chart that:
“The words "patriot" and "treason" will lose their meaning, and in some cases they will become interchangeable. What is treason to one person will be patriotism to another—just as it was back in the 1760s and 70s. The country's mood will become darker and much more conservative. It's not going to be a matter of Democrat or Republican anymore, because the new ideologies will bleed across party lines.”
We explore, too, how this July 5 Cancer New Moon--which pits Juno, the asteroid goddess of “the partner” in Virgo against Saturn retrograde in Pisces--poses barriers & boundaries in the realm of partnership. This is echoed as well in the grand cardinal cross formed by both luminaries in opposition to dwarf planet Ceres in authoritative Capricorn. This leaves us at a crossroads as they all square the transiting karmic Libra South Node & Aries North Node at this lunation.
If we look at this in the context of Washington, D.C., and the June 27 U.S. presidential debate between Joe Biden & Donald Trump, we can see Juno in Virgo’s critical nature against a weak-appearing father (read: authority figure.) As Jungian astrologer Liz Greene puts it in her book “Saturn: A New Look at an Old Devil,” Saturn in Pisces represents, among other things, “a weak father.”

Disagreements, squabbles, he said/she said—get ready for a summer full of it, as the summer solstice chart’s entrance of the Sun into Cancer portends another three months of angst around our partnerships until the Sun enters Libra at the September 22 fall equinox.
That’s because this solstice chart reflects a tensional T-square between the Moon in Sagittarius to Juno (a.k.a., the archetypal energy of “the wife”) in Virgo opposite Saturn in Pisces, indicating disharmony between what each partner needs to feel emotionally secure.
Witness the formation of new partnerships, such as those between Russia & North Korea, for example, to counteract that of NATO, just to name one collective happening at the time of this solstice…And the fact that Venus—the ruler of the transiting Libra South Node—squares the nodal axis—continues to test our relationships doesn't help either, sad to say…
This podcast looks also at what led us to now, including more fallout from the Mars/Pluto exact square June 11 & discusses the deeper meaning of the cycle between these two planets which—when in frictional aspect—often depict explosive events, including potential violence. Now, at this Capricorn Full Moon, with the same planetary players still square to Neptune but waning in strength, the Saturn-ruled Capricorn Moon calls us all to release our attachment to that “victim thang,” and to instead put on our big girl & boy pants and just deal with reality already! As Mars in Taurus waxed toward its exact fixed square to Pluto in Aquarius on June 11—an aspect that can predict violence--we first learned of the rescue of four Israeli hostages in Gaza, but also that, in doing so, 274 Palestinians perished. And on June 10, the U.N. Security Council passed a U.S.-backed Gaza cease-fire resolution that laid out a three-phase plan that begins with an immediate cease-fire.
But action there has been stalled, as per the squares to Saturn by Venus, the Sun, & Mercury between June 8 & 10—as the Gemini New Moon began to wax--just as it’s been stalled elsewhere in places like the U.S. Congress. These squares reflect resistance, particularly from authority figures &/or institutions.
This became obvious this past week in Germany & France, where right-wing factions gained ground in last week’s elections, causing French President Macron to dissolve the lower house of parliament & call for new elections beginning June 30. Part of a historic surge of the far-right’s in European elections—including in Germany—France’s politics have been thrown into disarray.
This podcast reviews also how on June 11 former President Donald Trump, convicted on May 30 of 34 felonies, met with his probation officer who will make sentencing recommendations to the judge who’s scheduled to announce Trump’s sentene on July 11.
Also on July 11, as Mars exact squared Pluto, a jury found Hunter Biden guilty for lying about his drug use on his application to own a gun. As noted, Mars & Pluto in frictional aspect can mean violence, and guns—whether used or not—certainly imply potential violent intent.
We look during this podcast at Hunter Biden’s natal chart & discuss how it reflects the sudden loss of his mother due to an automobile accident. It's Gemini season, after all, & the Geminian archetype includes local transportation--& Biden has a Mars/Uranus opposition square to his natal Cancer/Capricorn Ascendent/Descent. More on the Mars/Pluto square front was the news that Steve Bannon, Trump’s former chief of staff during the early years of his presidency is due to report to jail on July 1, though he’s still attempting a last minute appeal. Bannon--who’s been accused of stealing money from the fund collected to “build the wall” (the resurrection of another Saturnian symbol during a week of squares to Saturn,” lol)—is being jailed for refusing to respond to a House January 6 committee subpoena & was sentenced to four months in prison on October 21, 2022. Talk about delay, eh?
And, how about—as we approached the June 13/14 first quarter lunar square of the Virgo Moon to the Gemini Sun AND the Sun/Mercury conjunction in Gemini—the Supreme Court decision declaring that the case to prevent mifepristone from being sent through the mail was decided. The lack of standing of the petitioners was the deciding factor, but this means another case is probably coming down the pike, again illustrating those squares to Saturn as a delay but not a final resolution.
Finally, there’s the decision by the G7 nations meeting this past week that both U.S. & European banks housing frozen Russian assets—to the tune of $250BN—agree to use the $50BN in interest to fund a U.S. loan to Ukraine to help with this nation’s reconstruction once the war of Russian aggression there ends. Confiscating "joint resources" monies as retribution against war--you can’t get more Mars/Pluto square-y than that!

Just as night follows day, it’s a given that one monthly lunar cycle follows another—astrology is, after all, the study of cycles. This podcast delves deeply into how this past month’s planetary aspects—starting with the May 7 Taurus New Moon monthly lunar cycle--helped us renew our innate sense of morality, ethics, and yes, true justice!
By now most of us are familiar with the May 30 waning third quarter lunar square & the big news about a trial conviction for former president Donald Trump as Mercury conjoined Uranus in Taurus. This podcast looks at the play-by-play of astrological aspects that led to a jury of his peers finding him guilty on all 34 felony counts, & how in the end that Taurus New Moon cycle’s energies reinforced our inherent sense of justice—including in the power of the feminine divine.
HINT: We’ll look at how, since May 7’s Taurus New Moon lunation--& its conjunctions to Uranus & Jupiter in Taurus & sextile to Saturn in Pisces—we were asked us to plant seeds of greater commitment to our truest sense of ethics, morality, & the ability to judge fairly. And how the May 23 Sagittarius Full Moon called us to release our attachment to unrelated or random details that do not add up to the whole story.
And now how that renewed sense of faith can lead us to discover-- during this Gemini New Moon monthly lunar cycle—that it’s time to plant seeds that allows us to LISTEN to details that make sense because they add up to a logical conclusion. We may use the Gemini archetype’s mental agility & adaptability to continue to exchange our old set of no longer relevant values for ones more appropriate to current times. And to plan to our tactical advantage, as long as we remember to keep in mind that we must develop an overall strategy that gets us to the end goal.
The issue this month will move from last month’s lunar cycle’s sextile to Saturn in Pisces to this month’s set of squares to Saturn, which include Venus, the Sun, & Mercury in Gemini all squaring Saturn June 8 9, & 12. Will our renewed optimism turn to pessimism as this month progresses? Will there be even more spin (read: denying what is factually true) as we move toward through this month’s lunar cycle?
The key here is to get the facts straight and to keep the faith, babe, especially between now and when the Capricorn Full Moon on June 21 asks us to release any infantile habits or behaviors that might make us want to cry if we don’t get our way…
In addition, we discuss the waxing Mars/Pluto cycle, which began February 18 as it Mars makes an exact waxing square to Pluto July 11. Btw, July 11 is the same day Donald Trump is scheduled to be sentenced, unless his usually tactic of delay, delay, delay is successful, we shall see. We take note of the fact as well that Mars will exact oppose Pluto on November 1—just two days before the November 3, 2024 presidential election, so stay tuned…
Finally, we look again at how transiting Pluto’s been quincunxing Trump’s Leo Ascendant conjunct fixed star Regulus & how I’ve been saying for months now that this was going to change (read: adjust) the public’s views of who he “really” is. That, along with transiting Uranus hitting his Midheaven at the jury verdict, do not bode well for his reputation going forward.
However, as always we shall see, but this podcase discusses also the deeper meaning of being born with Regulus prominent in one’s chart & how it portends a fall from grace when one misuses one’s power through any acts of revenge.

JOIN SHERI HORN HASAN @KARMIC EVOLUTION DOT COM starting May 24 at 11 a.m. PT & 2 p.m. ET when this week’s podcast drops for more about Jupiter in Gemini for the next year & the higher meaning of the recent May 23 Sagittarius Full Moon!
When the Sagittarius Moon opposed the Gemini Sun at this lunation, it highlighted for us all the shadow side of the Gemini archetype, because it reflected the light of the Sun back to itself, as do all full Moons. Thus, it asked us to release our attachment toward endless chatter & the tendency to run around in mental circles, which can create both confusion & mental exhaustion.
The Sagittarius Moon reminded the Gemini Sun that there’s a bigger picture—based on a wider interpretation of our personal philosophies—that can cure the Geminian tendency toward getting stuck in the local ‘hood & ignore that there’s a wider world out there to which we are all connected. Without such consciousness, the Gemini archetype can get stuck in the maze of its own making (read: distracted by gossip & conspiracy theories) & engage in short-term tactics that don’t advance us toward an actual long-term goal.
A perfect metaphorical example is this: Imagine the Gemini Sun as a person wandering confusedly through the labyrinth’s maze, unable to find an exit. The longer one walks, the more confused one gets as she loses all sense of direction.
Well, when the Sagittarius Moon tells the Gemini Sun to “look up!” he’s reminding this archetypal energy that there’s a way out. If we can expand our mind beyond the narrower ken of being stuck in that labyrinth’s seemingly endless mental rut, we can rise above & see its configuration more clearly. The difference boils down to a rat being stuck in a maze with no way out compared to the eagle soaring above who sees the exit clearly.
And the Gemini Sun’s trine to Pluto Rx in Aquarius at this lunation called us to take stock of the deeper meaning of our lives & to study what no longer works so that we may make changes. The intent is to reform the necessary parts of our lives so they may run more smoothly in the future. Venus entered Gemini then, too, which can help us communicate with others in more loving ways as long as we watch out for superficial communication.
So, as Jupiter enters Gemini May 25 for the next year until June 9, 2025, he will expand the Geminian archetype’s potential. However, it goes without saying (though I’ll say it anyway, lol) that this means it will expand both the good, bad, & the ugly.
So, get ready for the expansion of new ideas, ways of communicating, more reading, writing, talking about, & discussing of, ideas. But be prepared also for Gemini’s shadow side to rear its ugly head in the form of more mis- & disinformation & propaganda, gossip, fickle behavior, & conspiracy theories.
However, since Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius is the sign of higher knowledge & expansion of consciousness, and includes in its archetypal range the subject of law, we may well see an expansion of legal applications to combat Gemini’s shadow side energies. So, if we can keep the focus on the positive of Gemini’s energies, which include talking, teaching, writing--& the reception of information through listening, learning, reading, & observing—we can make the highest use of Jupiter’s transit through Gemini over the next year.

First, let’s remember how the March 10 Pisces New Moon called us to develop compassion—for both ourselves & others. Then the April 8 Aries New Moon solar eclipse, which conjoined wounded healer Chiron, asked us to speak out about past & present wounds so that we may heal them going forward.
The April 23 Scorpio Full Moon square to Pluto in Aquarius illustrated that social reform is necessary to accomplish both of these goals, as this square—along with Pluto’s May 2 station retrograde--represented groups fighting for future change & equality for all. Whether domestically in state legislatures or on college campuses where students call for international equality, this reality has become pretty obvious, wouldn’t you say?
And when Venus squared Pluto April 30/May 1 issues around sex & money hit the collective in rapid fire, including: Russia raising its citizens taxes to fund its war on Ukraine, the repeal & enactment of abortion laws in several U.S. states, & an ongoing election fraud trial in NYC centered on paying off a porn star to keep quiet about a sexual liaison to win a presidential election.
We also had the news—just as Mercury stationed direct in Aries on April 25—that New York’s highest court threw out Harvey Weinstein’s 2020 rape conviction because it found the trial judge unfairly allowed testimony against Weinstein based on allegations that weren’t part of the case. (Don’t worry, he’s still in prison based on the rape conviction in his Los Angeles trial.)
This makes the message of the May 7 Taurus New Moon--which sextiled Saturn in Pisces—even more important with regard to showing greater respect for feminine divine energies & cycles. Especially as convicted sexual abuser former president Donald Trump continues to stand trial in New York for covering up a sex scandal with a porn star as part of an election fraud scheme. Quite representative of all the Venus energy juxtaposed against Mars in Aries right now in a "he said, she said" kinda way, right?
Combined with the Aries True North Node’s May 8 conjunction to Hygeia, the goddess asteroid of health, we’re called this month to work toward improving our own & the world’s health. The Sun’s sextile to Saturn May 6/7 set the stage for the opportunity to succeed at a plan that Venus’s May 13 sextile to Saturn can commit to for the long-term. But this will require a change in values as the Taurus Sun approaches conjunction to Uranus May 13, & a further commitment to justice as the Sun/Jupiter conjunction takes place May 18.
And all of this further requires that we understand the messages sent to us already. That self-compassion leads to compassion for others, speaking out about our own & others’ deep wounds leads to future healing, & that the opportunity to commit to lasting peaceful solutions that stand the test of time is what’s most important as we move forward.

Change is inevitable as a law of the universe, but won’t come easily, as the square of both luminaries to Pluto in Aquarius is already been felt by events like the arrest of 100+ students protesting the war in Gaza at NYC’s Columbia University on April 18.
With Pluto about to enter Aquarius for the long haul on November 19, we’re seeing shades of the revolutionary energy of the Uranus/Pluto conjunction in Virgo from the mid-1960’s when the protests by students nationwide at college campuses were shut down by the authorities, sometimes brutally (Kent State, anyone?)

By April 11, when the Aries Sun meets Mercury retrograde at their inferior conjunction, we will doubtless hear some kind of major announcement from the powers that be. And it will likely be something that’s revising an older policy or plan because, as noted, Mercury is retrograde--a time when we review & revise our previous courses of action. And it’s then we hopefully will hear something meant to promote further healing within the collective.

This Libra Full Moon lunar eclipse asks us to realize that true partnership takes hard work & the commitment now to release any romanticized notions that relationship can magically simply work--without some kind of realistic effort to empathize with those of opposing viewpoints.
The Beatles lyrics of “We Can Work It Out” come to mind:
“Try to see it my way, do I have to keep on talking till I can’t go on? If we see it your way, things may fall apart before too long…we can work it out, we can work it out…”
But “can we work it out?” is the question as this Libra Full Moon lunar eclipse which occurs at 5’07 Libra at midnight PT & 3 a.m. ET March 25. Falling in the 9th House of law, immigration, morality, integrity, etc., & opposing the Aries Sun in the 3rd House of communication of the U.S. capitol illustrates the philosophical differences between those who prefer to duke it out with those who are willing to compromise for the sake of a higher purpose.
The key lies with duking it out for the purpose of negotiating a compromise at this lunation, especially since both luminaries are waxing toward squares to Washington, D.C.’s 10’13” Capricorn/Cancer Ascendant/Descendant.
This lunar eclipse has the Libra Moon standing alone against Aries Sun reminding it that independent action can only work for so long before some kind of partnership agreement can be reached. Negotiation & compromise is the only way to settle long term disputes in ways that may not make everyone joyous, but satisfies both parties enough in the end to forge a harmonious peace.
This eclipse lunation is similar to the the Pisces New Moon on March 10 in that all of the planets are squished into a crowded conglomeration including from Jupiter in Taurus to Pluto in Aquarius. Back then, however, the Pisces Moon & Sun came together and were included in this fold, indicating both the possibility for a myopic focus in the negative sense, but also a strong sense of concentrated attention that could benefit specific areas of life.
Now, since the conglomeration of planets is almost exactly the same--with the exception of the Sun’s move into Aries on March 18 & Mars pending move into Pisces March 22—this eclipse lunation differs basically because the Libra Moon is now opposing the Aries Sun which resides within this group.
So we have a situation where the Libra Moon’s plea for negotiation & compromise toward a peaceful resolution of disputes between partners can be recognized in stark contrast to the ideologies of Pluto in Aquarius, the impetus for war amongst the planets in Aries, including the Sun, Chiron, Mercury, & Eris (Mars’s sister in Greek mythology & the dwarf planet known as the goddess of discord & chaos), & the realization that we all share in the Piscean commitment to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
At this eclipse, the Libra Moon is separating from a trine to Pluto in Aquarius, & a quincunx to Mars in Pisces. The former denotes a potential agreement between partners through negotiation, the latter a necessary adjustment as Mars moves from ideological warrior in Aquarius to a more empathic & compassionate one in Pisces. That’s especially true as Venus now separates from Saturn in Pisces, a conjunction aspect that signifies commitment in partnership.

While Mercury’s in Mars-ruled Aries from March 9 through April 29—the sign through which he’ll next retrograde from April 1-25—expressions of angry impatience over world events such as those in Gaza may well continue to increase. This is especially true since Venus—in Pisces from March 9 through April 5—will join Mercury in Aries April 5 for the rest of his journey through that sign.
What does this mean? Mercury rules not only communication, but siblings, local business & transportation, & “near neighborhoods,” including relatives like aunts, uncle, & cousins.
We can plainly see anger building over events this week around the too slow transportation of food & medicine into places like Gaza, where children are dying of malnutrition. Also in Haiti where more than a million children--a quarter of the population--are currently cut off from food and vital services due to the recent violence there, according to the charity Save The Children.
In addition, many domestic legal “arguments” have been heard this week & will continue to be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court during the period of these Mercury & Venus transits. Venus in Pisces, is exalted according to traditional astrology, , yes, but that doesn’t change its propensity for naivete or the ability to play the victim or the martyr—which as Howard Sasportas points out in his book “The Gods of Change” are really two sides of the same coin.
So, as anger builds over the mistreatment of others (Mercury is in Mars-ruled Aries & Mars highest function is to defend & protect those weaker or unable to defend themselves), while the dissolution of women’s rights offends Venus as she travels first through Neptune-ruled Pisces but soon will move into Mars-ruled Aries as well, as noted.
So, issues of women’s rights as they’ve been flowing down the drain since the Supreme Court’s Dobbs legal decision in June 2022 (Venus represents how we value feminine divine energy) have ignited a great deal of anger which is only likely to increase more openly when Venus transits through Aries soon.
This week, however, the Sun conjoins Neptune March 17, making us all more prone to feel for the masses who need protection from harm because we’re able to relate to their victimization now. When the Sun moves into Aries March 21, such empathy may turn into action, as evidenced by Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer’s recent call for new elections in Israel--essentially to dethrone current right wing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from power there.

This week’s podcast reviews the deeper meaning of the last monthly lunar cycle (hint: it’s about learning that not all dreams are capable of becoming reality) & illustrates that when we’re in a time of confusion the Pisces New Moon phase will remind us that from chaos comes clarity!
The Pisces New Moon, at 20-degrees 16-minutes Pisces at 2 a.m. PT & 5 a.m. ET March 10, has both luminaries sandwiched between planets in only four other signs—from Pluto at 1’27” Aquarius through Uranus at 19’52 Taurus, concentrating our energies now. On one hand we may be more myopic (read: more subjective than objective), but on the other more focused & better able to concentrate.
However, with the Moon, Sun, Saturn, Neptune, and Hygeia--the goddess asteroid of health--all in Pisces, things have been murky for a while. As we emerge from the Aquarius New Moon square Uranus in Taurus cycle—which represented sudden shifts in our ideological values, particularly as they relate to our partnerships—we’ll soon be called to express empathy for others, especially since the Mercury/Neptune conjunction of March 8.
We’re tasked now with releasing all wishful or fantastical thinking & grounding the planting of our new Moon seeds into caring for others through the knowledge that we are all one; all part of the greater collective’s energies; all brothers & sisters under the skin.
With Juno, the goddess asteroid of partnership, opposing Saturn, however, this might not prove so easy. Some of this was illustrated at President Biden’s State of the Union address March 7, as we waxed toward March 8’s Sun/Neptune conjunction in Pisces.
While he expressed the urgency of March 9’s Mars/Uranus square by saying “I see a future of defending democracy where we protect our right to freedoms, not take them away,” the GOP rebuttal from Alabama Senator Katie Britt’s exposed to a wide audience the GOP’s more dystopian view.
This ideological schism could not be wider and, though in play for quite some time now, it’s the Pisces New Moon that will remind us that “no man is an island, no man stands alone…each man’s joy is joy to me, each man’s grief is my own.” If we can get with that program, ideological differences can dissolve & true caring for our fellow human beings can rise to the surface…

On last week’s podcast Sheri noted how a Sun/Mercury conjunction usually portends a major announcement by someone of import, such as a head of state or someone in a high position, be it a politician, celebrity, or other prominent personage.
However, this conjunction included serious Saturn—& was in the archetypal sign of Neptune-ruled Pisces, which cast a cloud of confusion over whether such an announcement would actually come to pass. And major announcements we had! From the stepping down of Senator Mitch McConnell as minority leader of the Senate, to the confusing statement by President Biden indicating an Israeli/Hamas ceasefire was near, to the Supreme Court’s announcement it would take up Donald Trump’s presidential immunity claims & cause more delay, & more!
