Becoming A “Samsung Man” is a memoir. It recounts my journey as I follow my “Korean dream” to achieve success in the “land of morning calm” that my mother introduced to me when I was 10 years old. My dream takes me into the heart of corporate Korea as a young girl, where I am trying to find my place in Samsung hierarchy. The title refers to a social status symbol given to the selected few hired by the company.

How did you manage to survive in Asia all by yourself for 16 years? – my friends ask me when I share with them the stories of my life in Korea and Japan, and my career in Samsung and Nissan Motor.
Having left Asia 4 years ago, I realized that during my life long journey there I built an invisible bond with Asia and it will forever be a part of me. And so, I was looking for a side project that would give me an opportunity to continue sharing stories about what it takes to survive and thrive in the foreign culture in a professional capacity. That’s how the idea of a BIZTROTTER was born.
From my experience I know how challenging it is to integrate into the foreign business culture, understand all the intricate facets of it, build trust as a foreigner and find the niche to thrive.
