Out of Complacency, Into Loving God Deeply
There is a yearning inside of you for a deep and meaningful relationship with God.
You love Him but not like you know you could. Or should.
You struggle with feelings of guilt because you know that often you’re just going through the motions rather than eagerly drinking from the well that never runs dry.
You go through spurts of motivation and excitement and then crash down on feelings of discouragement or hopelessness.
I know what it’s like to feel just a little lost.
A little bit stuck.
Or even, just flat out complacent.
I understand that the reality of mom life and the day to day tasks can get in the way of all our best intentions.
I also know that sometimes it’s just sheer exhaustion that keeps us from moving forward and growing in the Word of God and in our faith.
God knows that motherhood is demanding and He made a way for you to be a mom and have a vibrant relationship with Him at the same time.
He means for you to thrive in life and not merely get by.
Let me be that voice in your ear (literally and figuratively) pushing you forward.
Encouraging you.
Sharing stories of hope.
Of victories.
Reminding you of His amazing love for you.
And, maybe, giving you a swift kick in the pants to keep you going.
My name is Helen Siemens and in this podcast I want to talk to you like I would over a good cup of coffee.
Being your friend.
Your cheerleader.
Your sister in Christ. -

Jesus said, "Whoever wishes to come after Me, must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me" (Matthew 16:24). This is what Christians have been trying to do for centuries: to become like Christ. The old expression was "imitating Christ"; now we say, "following Christ," walking in His footsteps, to become like Him. Join Fr. Joe Roesch, MIC, as he reads the spiritual classic, "The Imitation of Christ," from beginning to end. It was written in the 1400s, yet sounds like it was written yesterday. Translated into languages all over the world, it is said to be the most well-read book in the world next to the Bible. "The Imitation of Christ" was read and beloved by many of the saints, and offers great spiritual advice for every age. Father Roesch is reading the translation by Aloysius Croft and Harold Bolton, available in a PDF download from CatholicPlanet.com. Support our Ministries here.
