  • Leigh chats Onoleigh about her most recent single release of her song, "OK Later", and they chatted about her future EP release as well as her Christmas release!

About Onoleigh:Onoleigh knows what she wants to say. The 26-year-old Mahomet, IL, native has spent the past few years in Nashville honing her sound and mastering her craft, but her story had begun years before. As early as 16, Onoleigh began making frequent trips to Music City, where she was quickly accepted into the Broadway circuit. She cut her teeth playing cover songs for tourists, and learned to keep their attention with her powerful stage presence and stunning vocals. Early champions including singer/songwriter John Oates (of Hall & Oates) and session musician David Dorn helped her build her creative communities and find her voice in the writing room.

Fast forward to 2024, and Onoleigh travelled to LA for a writing trip with hit-making writer/ producer Emile Ghantous (Pitbull, Chris Brown, Boys II Men). Together, the two churned out a collection of songs that perfectly encapsulated the sound Onoleigh had been working toward: high-energy, explosive pop production coupled with heartfelt country lyrics. Topped, of course, by Onoleigh’s signature powerhouse voice. Back in Nashville, Onoleigh added her beloved organic instrumentation to the songs with the help of some of Nashville’s most acclaimed studio musicians. And now, all that’s left to do is to share this music with the world. Singles "Higher Standards" and "Drink And Cry" were released in August and September 2024, respectively, with "OK Later" set to arrive November 1st. With lyrics that scream resilience and a carefree attitude, Onoleigh invites listeners to embrace their emotions and indulge in a little recklessness after a breakup. The chorus "let me feel my feelings, I'll be ok later," encapsulates the spirit of the song—proving that it’s ok to not be ok and that revenge can be sweet.Co-written and produced by Grammy-nominated Emile Ghantous, along with Emmy-winning Josh Goode and 4x Platinum songwriter Sam SZND, "OK Later" showcases Onoleigh's haunting powerhouse vocals, recorded in the historic Layman Drug Company in Nashville. This track is more than just a song; it's a rallying cry for anyone who's ever felt the sting of betrayal and is ready to show their ex what they're missing.

  • Ty Gregory and your Chats Pod host, Leigh met at the Whiskey Jam Bootlegger's Tailgate after his set in Jacksonville, FL before the Luke Combs show. Ever since, they've shared witty commentary and dad jokes on the state of country music and life in general while becoming social media friends. If you didn't have the chance to see Ty Gregory playing at the Whiskey Jam events this summer, or maybe somewhere else in the country this year, odds are you're likely to catch him at a Chili's Bar and Grill being a middle-class fancy dad to his two girls.

His newest single, "Pictures of Us" released on September 27th, so be sure to stream it after hearing all about it on this episode of the Coda Country Chats Podcast.

    About Ty Gregory:

Hailing from a small town just 50 miles east of Nashville, Ty Gregory has been sowing his musical roots deep in the Bible Belt since he was just a teenager.

As a young boy, Ty would sit in front of his grandmothers wooden console tv for hours at a time watching 90’s country music videos on CMT. Captivated by the look and sound of artists such as Tracy Lawrence, Joe Diffie and Travis Tritt, Ty knew at a young age that whatever these guys had, he also wanted. As Ty started nearing his teenage years his love for music didn’t fade, but it did however start etching more towards modern hard rock. From bands such as 3 Doors Down, Creed and Staind, Ty grew interest in becoming more than your average listener and decided it was time to learn a musical craft of his own.

Twelve years old with a new tobacco sunburst painted Silvertone guitar from a Sears catalog, Ty quickly began learning to strum chords and eventually he turned those chords into songs. From that point on, Ty became hooked to the concept of playing and creating music of his own and formed countless country and rock bands over the next several years.

A subtle mix of 90’s country twang coupled with melodic overtones and driving beats that can’t help from being considered an anthem, Ty Gregory is a fresh new take on the country format.

Asbury has developed her own unique style that merges thoughtful, literate songwriting with her edgy Southern rock-infused sound.Asbury knows the power of music because she’s felt it in her own life, and she wants to have that impact on others. “Songwriting has been super cathartic for me,” she says. “I'm blessed in the fact that I can write my feelings out within a melody, and it helps so much putting it on paper and singing it. And when I listen to other artists like Carrie Underwood or Miranda Lambert, I feel like, ‘Wow! They’ve lived my life. They know me.’ Songwriting is such a powerful thing and it’s great to be able to speak for people who don’t know how to put their feelings into words. Music is really one of the most powerful tools in our world for healing. I want to wrap people up in a blanket of feelings, to provide them the warmth they need in a tough moment. Pappas’ journey brought her to Nashville’s own Belmont University in 2020 to study songwriting. As a writer, she has a unique and defining sound, inspired by storytellers like Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift. Her songs challenge the pop country landscape by merging infectious melodies, compelling stories, and clever metaphors. These elements can be heard on the carefree summer love tune ‘Every Mile’ (January 2024) and breakup bop ‘Space’ (February 2023). Pappas’ writing also led her to receive her first outside cut with country artist Abbie Callahan's 'Redneck Lingerie' in November 2023.Aside from her original music, Pappas has built up an impressive resume performing The National Anthem at 100+ sporting events since 2017. Her biggest performances so far have been for the MLB Cleveland Guardians, Tennessee Titans Foundation, and Vanderbilt University Baseball.
