This was a word I shared recently at @hopecreativecollective and I really feel like it's a word in season for the creative community as a whole. The times we live in feel dark... but there is SO much hope, and there is a way the Lord wants to use creativity in this hour that is unlike any other in history!
I pray it encourages you and spurs you on to have oil in your lamp and use your creativity to light a flame in others!

Today I'm interviewing someone I deeply admire, the beautiful Justina Stevens! !t was such an honour to meet and have this beautiful conversation! Justina is the art director for @cagelessbirds and has served with them for 10 years so far. Justina is the author behind many of the creative prompts their special publication called 'Cultivate'. She shares from her own story about the times that the Father showed up for her in pages of her creative journals as she processed with Him, and brings an encouragement from a deep well of wisdom for those that are journeying through discouragement or suffering to continue to come close to the Father.
We also have some frank chats about motherhood and the joy of creativity in the midst of the chaos!

She is the creative director of Compassion Australia, has published several books, runs creative retreats, is an incredible mum & wife.. and does all of this with a beautiful posture of humility and joyful servanthood.
We dove into some deep and beautiful topics around what creativity with the Holy Spirit looks like (including some really precious stories) and wrapped it all up with a beautiful conversation about what it looks like to find your authentic voice as a creative & push past fear & failture in a practical way.

Hello creative friends,
My name is Susanna April, and welcome to the creative journey podcast!
My heart for this podcast is that you would feel an invitation from the Father to hear His voice in your creative journey. Regardless of your medium, outlet or the form your creativity takes, Jesus wants to be on your journey with you.. this wonβt be just a podcast to talk about creativity.. this will be a space where you are inspired to draw near to Jesus and push past fear. A space to learn to create from the overflow of your connection with Him.
Each week we will unpack through conversations and stories topics like finding identity in Jesus, what to do when we fail, how to finding purpose and calling, how God speaks in creativity, how to navigate feeling uninspired and so much more. If you are craving to be called higher, to go deeper, to learn not to take yourself too seriously and instead take on HIS joy - this is the place for you.
My prayer is that this podcast would accelerate your journey with the Father and that you would walk away with a fire in your bones to love Jesus through your creativity - that He has SO many thoughts about you and that itβs in His heart to share them with you. My prayer is that you would unplug your headphones every week knowing that friendship with Jesus is your greatest tool in growing in your creativity.
