Rabbi Dr. Raphael Zarum, the Rabbi Sacks Chair of Modern Jewish Thought, at the London School of Jewish Studies and Rabbi Dr. Jack Shlachter of Los Alamos National Laboratory discuss the life, achievements, and Jewishness of Robert Oppenheimer. Both Rabbis Zarum and Shlachter are physicists and are uniquely prepared to discuss this subject. Rabbi Shlachter was the head of the Theoretical Division of Los Alamos, a position that Oppenheimer once held, and he knows the history of the Jews in the Manhattan Project, perhaps better than anyone else. The mentor of Rabbi Zarum was Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, the Chief Rabbi of the British Commonwealth and a leading Jewish thinker and author.
