Buckle up, sports fan - DSPN host Martin Devlin and young producer Lachlan Waugh are back, laying a game off What Has More Chance Of Happening. Marty and Lachie debate which Super Rugby Pacific underdog might pull off a miracle (spoiler: probably not the Waratahs), they dish out NRL odds like seasoned bookies, and argue over who's got the better chance - Liam Lawson cracking the F1 top 10 or Max Verstappen doing Max Verstappen things. There's even some A-League chat and a love letter to greasy chips at Brookvale Oval. It’s full-throttle sport talk, served with a cheeky grin.

On the DSPN, Martin Devlin yarns with Clinton Toopi, the former Warriors and Kiwis centre, who dives into everything from State of Origin game one to Warriors' hopes for the 2025 NRL season. Toopi dishes on Queensland’s “clunky” misfires, NSW’s swagger, and why Origin ain't for the faint-hearted - or slow-reacting edge defenders. He also raves about Mitch Barnett’s madman ability to play back-to-back games like it’s a light jog. Off the field, Toopi’s been mentoring young rugby league guns on the Gold Coast, and promoting mental wellness - basically the NRL’s wise uncle. Finally, he tips his hat to the Warriors’ gritty rise, calling for consistency and dirty wins - because pretty footy doesn’t always get you the two points, but effort does!

Former All Black Murray Mexted joins Martin Devlin on the DSPN, for a lively, no-holds-barred Super Rugby Pacific chat, mixing sharp analysis with classic Mexted humour. Murray's all in on the Chiefs, calling their unity under soon-to-depart coach Clayton McMillan “commendable,” and reckons the Hurricanes are peaking at just the right time with strike power all over the park. While he’s not convinced the Crusaders are fully “back", he gives them credit, and argues the Highlanders are better than their low ranking suggests - “a good team will always beat a team of good players.”
Mexted tips Fabian Holland as a future star, praises the leadership of Timoci Tavatavanawai and his rise from winger to midfield mainstay, and questions the inconsistency of the Blues, despite backing them to sneak into the playoffs. Through it all, he hammers one point home with classic Kiwi bluntness: it’s simple - win the ball, and you’ll win the game.

On the DSPN today, host Martin Devlin delivers a sermon on the rapidly rising game of 'Run it Straight', which you can call a sport at an absolute stretch. The game essentially takes the thunderous hit ups seen from kick-offs in rugby league, and uses those as the focal point of entertainment. Debate has sparked around its safety, especially with the competition RUNIT holding events in New Zealand recently. That debate has only grown fiercer with the death of a Kiwi teenager this week, who was playing a similar sort of game. Marty reckons there's little to no debate here, and there needs to be a push to get rid of the game.

They move onto other NRL clubs such as the Canterbury Bulldogs and Penrith Panthers, and their current form in the midst of the Origin period.
