On todays Mind Maintenance we will be looking forward to International Women's Day tomorrow. I will be joined by guest Jenny Suddaby. Jenny Suddaby is a coach, healer, bodywork therapist and author of Fantastical Thinking and Fantastical Being.
The theme of her work is self-awareness and self-development that is supportive of and accessible to all members of society. She challenges cultural constructs that keep us disempowered and explores how we can develop agency in an increasingly complex set of circumstances.
In the early 1980s, she studied physical and social anthropology at University College, London. She did fieldwork in ethnobiology, looking at the use of indigenous natural resources in traditional healing practices. She has applied an anthropological approach to the study of a variety of healing modalities over the past 25 years.
Through her training and practice, Jenny has a uniquely insightful perspective on how people manage themselves in relation to the world around them. She demystifies esoteric language and brings the magic of the unknown into every-day life.

Erris FM 90.8Today's Mind Maintenance was inspired by Martin McDonagh’s The Banshees of Inisherin that was on over the past weekend. The focus is on the pain and sadness associated with the loss of friendship. This is a particular type of loss and is captured wonderfully in McDonagh’s film. It is particularly interesting since it ends with no resolution and no hope of recovery of the friendship. Loss can bring us to confront our inner aloneness, reflection like this is an opportunity to bring awareness to inner hurts and using our own inner resources, bring repairing and strengthening to those parts.
We catch up on the Lauren Padden RIP fundraiser for North West STOP-Suicide Prevention- 0818 444 000 NW STOP provide a free confidential counselling service in Erris, where you can safely talk about loss, stress, confusion, feeling alone, conflicts and other pain in your life. If you find that you are self-harming, suicidal and feeling hopeless, NW STOP can help you by calling the counselling service on 0818 444 000, where their counselling coordinator will organise the best available counsellor to help you.
