We have been largely been silent on the abuse and manipulation within the Black Christian community… until now.

I would pay money to know what Guillermo del Toro thinks about on a daily basis, but at the same time I also do NOT want to know.

WELCOME TF BACK. Sorry I had to put this shit on pause - I packed my shit up in Chicago and moved to the LA area.
Alright Filmheads, first episode of season two is about The Batman. Of course I couldn't skip over a film that had queer people in mind from start to finish.
Did the former Twilight heartthrob fulfill his role as the famous comic book vigilante???
(Please enjoy the guest appearance of a car alarm)

The Lost Daughter depicts a story about an unconventional topic that doesn't get talked about enough: the toll of motherhood and parenthood, especially when you are young.
For all those who might have watched this movie and labeled the main character as "selfish"... I would argue that you watched this movie with a patriarchal lens.

TW: Spencer has graphic references to self harm and eating disorders, however, this particular episode of Film With CJ has been edited to omit in-depth discussion about such topics.
Kristen Stewart. There's something about her that is so polarizing to people. Some people hate to love her, others love to hate her. I happen to love to love her and she absolutely DELIVERED in the film Spencer. This woman TRANSFORMED herself to play the role of Princess Diana and personally I think this was Kristen's best performance ever (queue the people that are thinking "well that's not saying much for Kristen"). I don't know who is responsible for placing Kristen in this role and movie but whoever it is, let us give them a round of applause.

All I'm gonna say is... wow. And not in a good way. This movie was a punch in the mf'n gut. A roundhouse kick to the back of the head, if you will. Lana Wachowski (the director)... I just want to talk.
CJ gets a little heated in this episode, and you are about to find out why.

Preparing for the potential onslaught of hatred I may receive for this review, but fuck it. Not ashamed to admit that I watched this movie purely to see Z E N D A Y A.
Zendaya, if in some wild twist of fate you know who I am or hear this podcast, call me.

I am here to give a little bit of slander this week.
CJ opens this episode with a virtual hug to all those who may be feeling down during the holiday season. CJ continues by discussing the good and the bad about a movie that seems to only have good press (how can that be??). Portrait of a Lady on Fire shows lesbianism in a new light - let's talk about it.

This week, CJ opens by talking about the logistical nightmares due to the sun setting at 4 PM and the hypocrisy of American consumerism.
But that is not all. As promised, martial arts dominates this week's episode. The Raid: Redemption is the blueprint for many of the movies that are successful today - at the very least it is responsible for the success of John Wick. The Raid's tight quarters, fast pace, action-packed fight scenes that will leave you breathless.

This week, CJ talks about the pains of not being street smart, movie-watching pet-peeves, and of course, the 2012 film Looper with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, and Emily Blunt.
Reviewing this movie made CJ realize how much society would benefit from Joseph Gordon-Levitt being in more movies. Mans is talented.

Lady Gaga does the damn thing every single time. EVERY SINGLE time. When she tires of being a talented singing trailblazer, she can quite literally jump into a tv show or movie and obliterate everyone else in the cast. A true double threat, if you will. I am sure her back hurts from carrying the entire weight of House of Gucci.
