Let's face it. Being a mom in 2021 is difficult. We are still dealing with covid, and in Southwest Louisiana, we just survived the blizzard of 2021, and 2 hurricanes back to back in 2020. Being a mom presents all sorts of challenges, such as this extreme guilt one faces of "not being good enough", or "not trying hard enough". It's hard to continue to stay positive when your baby and children are needy. What about self care? That seems to go out of the window sometimes. How can you even parent during covid? Being a better parent doesn't have to be rocket science. Sometimes, it has to be finding people to support you, ones that are truly in your corner. So remember, you are not alone and keep pressing on and working towards being a better mom in 2021!

Today, we are doing things a little different. We are switching to video to host my friend Kathy from Michigan. Kathy is a therapist and Christian who is hoping to do everything she can to follow Christ and lead others to Him. We are planning on doing multiple episodes, so this was a "trial run", but was a very great conversation!

On our first official episode of Finding Freedom, I host Pastor Todd Schumacher of Church of the King in Lake Charles, LA. Being my pastor for over 6 years, I know much of what Todd has preached to our church and the community, but I wanted to have him on a podcast to be open and real about struggles we have faced this year, struggles within the church, and also share some of his Freedom Story. Pastor Todd shares many tips and suggestions for Christians and also marriages. If you are desiring to hear a deep conversation about these topics and more, then give this episode a listen and share!

In our very first intro episode, we discuss the reasons behind the "Finding Freedom" podcast. I believe that the key to "finding freedom" in a sense is vulnerability. On this episode, I share my vision of what to expect on the podcast and some of my story.
