Out in the air, the lady and Ezra follow their new friend back to the clearing where the two Mondol stones are emitting a brilliant display. There they see the work of the gentleman of the boxes, and though he has been subdued by the girl deep in the tunnels; his magic has a way of escaping still.

Meanwhile Ezra and The lady of the jars battle against the tide to escape the trappings of the tunnel. There are however more discoveries and hope lurking in the woods above.

In their own attempts to escape, they stumble across the other Mondol stone and find a way to bring it and them to the surface. All the while, the gentleman watches on.

Spirited away by the gentleman of the boxes, Ezra and the lady of the jars find themselves underground and trapped in a warren. While the girl of Europa returns to find they are missing, she is wise to the man's intent, and sets of to put a stop to him and find her friends.

Dimian may not be evil, but they can be deadly. They consume those who posses magic, leaving them as husks in their wake. The clearing the group have stumbled into is a sign that the Dimian are very much activate, and beneath their very feet. The lady of the jars must do something to push back the flood while the girl from Europa must come to see that balance is fairness in the bigger picture.
