This episode presents the interview with Hamburg-based artist Caspar David Engstfeld, working under the alias Krashkid, just before his solo show HOT HEADS AND COLD DRINKS at HUNGRY EYES.
HOT HEADS COLD DRINKS – a showcase of risograph prints and newly published zine together with artist original works and freshly made mural in gallery space. Exploring the themes of self-promotion culture and creative’s social bubbles, Krashkid’s playful illustrations feature an array of chain-smoking and martini-loving characters busy networking in claustrophobic spaces. Balancing between self-doubt and boundless egos, they hold up a mirror to the hot-headed avant-garde, offering a frequently ironic, yet at all times a self-aware reflection.
Krashkid produces works not limited in size or format, ranging from a picture book about the joys of DIY bicycles to eye-catching murals created during travels around the world as part of German street art collective Guapo Sapo. No matter the medium, Krashkid’s illustrations always retain his distinct style of colorful character-driven scenes populated by visually exaggerated urban dwellers, as well as his tongue-in-cheek social commentary.

This episode is brought to you as a part of A.Bran's solo exhibition "BLOOMING POTS" at HUNGRY EYES illustration gallery in Vilnius 08/09/22-07/10/22.
A.Bran is a freelance illustrator from Vilnius. Currently based in Porto. He works with illustration, art direction, animation, advertisement, set design, wall decoration, exhibitions, music videos, ceramics, workshops, scenography and ideas.
His work balances between social commentary and intimate, personal situations questioning social stigmas and our role as an individual within contemporary society. Research in work becomes exploration of everyday commonness that often turns out to be stranger than fiction if not followed by first impression, but rather observed more closely.Host > Cecilia Noiraud
