A pathologist was unable to determine a cause of death for Tina Satchwell (45) because of the skeletonised, badly decomposed and partly mummified condition of her remains which were excavated from underneath the stairs of her Cork home over six years after she vanished.
Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster told the Central Criminal Court murder trial of Richard Satchwell (58) that she performed a post mortem examination on Ms Satchwell's remains at the Cork University Hospital (CUH) morgue on October 12/13, 2023, after her body was fully excavated from a clandestine grave at her Youghal home.

GardaĂ fear Kerry farmer Mike Gaine was dead within hours of his last Âsighting in Kenmare almost two months ago. A man in his 50s is being questioned by detectives on suspicion of murder following the discovery of remains on Mr Gaineâs Kerry farm last Friday. GardaĂ continued to search Mr Gaineâs farm yesterday after body parts were found. The search at the 56-year-oldâs farm was sparked when several people involved in slurry spreading became suspicious of material left on fields.

The rise and fall of Glen Ward â the gangster known as âMr Flashyâ, has played out in less than a decade. Last week Glen Ward was given a five and a half year sentence while his brother Eric was previously jailed for five years. Because of the threat to his safety, Ward has been held on a 23.5 hour lock-up, while the address of the prison also cannot be published. However, gardaĂ have no doubt that they have not seen the last of the 32-year-old criminal, who is due to be released from prison while still in his mid-30s. By mid-2016 Glen Ward took the reins of the crime group which became known as the âGucci Gangâ because of their taste for expensive clothing and jewellery.
