Cincinnati Bengals new offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher joins us today on In the Trenches with Dave Lapham to discuss the arrival of training camp and how the Bengals offense will be better than ever in 2024. Who will be Tyler Boyd's replacement in the slot for the Bengals in 2024?
The Bengals selected a talented receiver in the 3rd round of the NFL draft with Jermaine Burton but rookie wide receivers usually take time to adjust to the NFL so maybe someone else will emerge early in the season. Andrei Iosivas was impressive in OTAs so maybe the second-year wideout can make a name for himself.
The Bengals also have several tight ends they really value. It will be interesting to see which one will emerge to start after a lackluster year from the tight ends in 2023. The front runner would be new free agent Mike Gesicki who is a pure receiving tight end, something the Bengals haven't had since drafting Joe Burrow. The Bengals have done a-lot this offseason to improve this offense and now we get to see it to action for the first time and with a healthy Joe Burrow the sky is the limit for the Bengals in 2024.
We want to thank Coach Pitcher for being a fantastic guest and for joining us today on In the Trenches with Dave Lapham brought to you by First Star Logistics. Former Cincinnati Bengals corner Eric Thomas joins us today on In the Trenches with Dave Lapham to discuss the Bengals 2024 defensive backs.
One of the biggest questions for this 2024 Bengals defense is the revamped secondary.
Will Vonn Bell return to his starting position after leaving the team last year? Can Geno Stone go from one of the best backups in the NFL to a dominant starter with the Bengals?
What will become of the Bengals 1st-round pick Dax Hill? Minicamp reports suggest he's getting playing time at outside corner but as ET says in our interview that's one of the hardest jumps to make in the NFL.

Cincinnati Bengals defense coordinator Lou Anarumo joins us today on In the Trenches with Dave Lapham to discuss the Bengals' upcoming training camp and the position battles on the defensive side of the ball.
Lou and Lap talk about the new vision for the Bengal's defense in 2024. With a lot of new players joining the defense, it will be interesting to see which players emerge as starters for the start of the 2024 season.
The biggest position battle seems to be in the secondary, with Dax Hill competing at outside corner instead of safety like in 2023. The Bengals also have three starting-caliber safeties that will be fighting for starting playing time; Geno Stone, Vonn Bell, and Jordan Battle.
Coach Lou is extremely excited about his new defense in 2024 and can't wait to get things rolling at the start of training camp.
We want to thank Coach Lou Anarumo for being a fantastic guest and for joining us today on In the Trenches with Dave Lapham brought to you by First Star Logistics. Growing up a multi-sport athlete in Stafford Township, New Jersey, Mike Gesicki excelled in basketball, volleyball, and football before he headed to Penn State, where he played 51 games with 129 receptions, 1,481 receiving yards, and 15 touchdowns.
After his college career ended, the Miami Dolphins selected Gesicki in the second round (42nd Pick) in the 2018 NFL Draft. After five seasons in Miami, Gesicki signed a one-year deal with the New England Patriots and, this spring, signed a one-year contract with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he hopes to become another significant weapon for Joe Burrow.
Fans hope Gesicki, who can play tight end or in the slot, shows the playmaking ability he showed in Miami this season with hopes of reaching another Super Bowl in the Burrow era.
In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics, is excited to welcome Mike Gesicki in an exclusive one-on-one interview.
