Since 2015, Impact Hub Phnom Penh has supported 403 teams of 850+ people to grow their social enterprises, provided 245,000 USD in grant funding to 51 startups, ran 27 entrepreneurship programs, grew a team of 25+ people, and so much more!
๐ฅ She goes through her journey coming from the French countryside to studying in an international business school, her time working in a salad factory or volunteering with Peruvian moms, and how sheโs been creating life-changing opportunities for herself.
๐ She shares how she has built her confidence to overcome her imposterโs syndrome and become the CEO and how, with her team, they turbocharged Impact Hub to lead change at a systemic level, guided by their vision of a more inclusive and sustainable Cambodia by 2040.

๐ฑ๐ฆ Jim Kouphokham is the co-founder of Xiang Miang, a youth-led social enterprise developing the entrepreneurial mindset and technology skills of youth. Heโs also the co-founder of Makerbox Lao, the first public makerspace in the country, enabling the youth to build things by themselves and adopt a maker mindset instead of a consumer mindset.
๐ก Coming from a difficult background, he studied hard to get a scholarship for Australia, where he was exposed to so many new ideas, opportunities and people that made him more creative, entrepreneurial and driven to make a change in Laos.
๐ค Throughout his studies, there was this one question that Jim kept thinking about: how can the youth in Laos also be exposed to these opportunities and be empowered to become problem solvers?
๐ป He came back to Laos and started collaborating with schools to conduct the first entrepreneurship bootcamps, data science programs and technology trainings with Xiang Miang.
โ๏ธ This led him to launch Makerbox for the youth to have their own space to connect, build things with their hands, and learn about topics never heard of in Laos before. Itโs a space built by makers, for makers and aspiring makers, for those who want to paint, build their own electric bicycles, discover the Internet of Things, play board games, or just have meaningful conversations!

๐ช โWhen you are in crisis, you can count on usโ is their motto, and they have benefitted more than 2 million people in Bangladesh so far by providing counselors, a 24/7 hotline, the first certified online course in Bengali, physical centers in garment factories and much more.
โ๏ธ We also go through her career as a renowned journalist for 11 years and how she had to prove herself 3 times, as an aspiring writer, as a youth and as a woman to find success.
๐ She received multiple awards acknowledging her amazing work from UNDP, UN Women, YSEALI or Acumen.

๐ป๐ณ Thuy Anh Ngo is a 4-time social entrepreneur from Vietnam on a mission to support kids and the elderly to enjoy a healthy and fulfilling life.
๐ช After she refused an extremely high-paying job at Wall Street, she came back to Vietnam to launch ALIGO Kids, a platform that has taught key life skills and child sexual abuse prevention through educational cartoons for 70,000 children and families.
๐ต Working with so many families, she also realized that while children have so many opportunities and are constantly exposed to new technologies, the elderly are left behind.
๐คณ Thuy Anh and her team then distributed smartphones and conducted digital literacy workshops for thousands of elderly, and it quickly evolved to become HASU, an app helping the elderly to take care of their mental health, physical health and social relationships, that has been used by 12,000 people to date.
๐ฅฐ She shares how she has identified the issues she cares about and how it has evolved over the years, which translated into her co-founding 4 different social enterprises: ALIGO Kids, HASU, and also ALIGO Media and Memory Love Book that you will discover in this episode.
๐ She was recently selected as Forbes 30 Under 30 in Vietnam and as Global Ambassador for Samsung Generation17.

๐ช His love for philosophy made him become a professor at the Palau Community College for more than 15 years, during which he kept asking his students: โwhat if the opposite was true?โ. What if Palau was self-sufficient? What if Palauan youth were role models for other youth across the world? What if Palau was narrating its own story to the world?
๐ค "Relationships are more important than being right".
๐ฏ Tutii has also been engaged with the Olympic Committee of Palau for the last 20 years to develop sports as a means for youth empowerment and for putting Palau on the global map. You never know, what if Palau brought back an Olympic gold medal in archery in 2024?
We discuss his long quest bringing his 2 passions - philosophy and sports - together, finding his purpose to make people think, and finding his community which was just around the corner in Palau.

๐ช Shomy Hasan Chowdhury is a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) activist from Bangladesh and co-founder of Awareness 360, a youth-led organization that aims to empower youth across the world to do community service. Shomy shares why she decided to dedicate her time and energy to ensure that no one dies from diarrhea.
We discuss how Awareness 360 started in a burger joint and now has 1500 volunteers in 20+ countries. We discuss what are important milestones in her life that shaped who she is today and finally, she shares with us her love for Bangladesh and how she wants everyone to know about this amazing country!
๐ง๐ฉ Shomy has received many recognitions for her social work of over a decade, notably the Presidentโs Volunteer Service Award (Gold) in 2012 from President Barack Obama for her outstanding contribution to community service. She has also brought pride to her nation by becoming the first and only Bangladeshi to have been awarded the 2019 Princess Diana Legacy Award for her humanitarian work continuing Princess Dianaโs legacy. She is currently serving as Global UNDP-Samsung Ambassador.
๐ค โI felt like I really need to step up, take action, go out there and tell people that: look, I lost my mom four days ago because of this, so please take these things seriously so that you don't lose the people you love.
