Bob, as he is affectionately known, has had a long and distinguished career in the United States before moving to Kenya. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Geneva College and completed his perfusion education at the Texas Heart Institute. He also holds a Master's of Science in Evaluative Clinical Sciences from Dartmouth Medical School. Bob has held various positions in the field of perfusion, including serving as the Interim Vice President and Director of Cardiovascular Perfusion at Maine Medical Center. He is decorated recipient of the John H. Gibbon Jr. Award, which recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the cardiopulmonary discipline. In this episode, Bob shares his inspiring story and testimony, and how his journey lead him to working in Kenya.
