For our fifth episode, Dave has a conversation with Sam Long, Pastor of Nova Church Adelaide.
Over the past decade Sam has been a Youth Pastor, Youth Alive Director and now Senior Pastor of Nova Church Adelaide having recently launched a new campus in the Adelaide CBD. Sam’s passion for young people knowing and living out the call of God on their lives is clearly evident. His faithfulness in the day to day discipleship of his young adults has served to stoked his leadership fire and grow an expectancy for the young people of his church to truly be the ones that set the standard for what it looks like to live out the great commission.
Sam and Dave talk about how they hear from God and Sam shares what it’s been like church planting with a young congregation 11:00, the trust and vulnerability required to get close to those you lead 35:40, how the world is asking more of our young people than we are 44:00, how our young people are desiring spiritual fathers and mothers and how our older saints can support them 48:25, and they finish by taking an honest look into if our churches are places that are safe to fail in? 53:00.

For our fourth episode, Dave is joined by Carl Robinson, Pastor at Citylight East.
Carl is a gifted leader, teacher and zealous for unity within the church of Adelaide. Over the last few years he has witnessed a growing hunger for the word of God, particularly in those who have been de-churched or returning to church community. Carl has a heart to boldly preach the truth of the gospel and shares that he takes comfort in knowing that it’s God’s church, not ours, but how truly blessed we are to be invited to build it with Him.
Carl talks with Dave about the wisdom in going slow when it comes to reading and understanding scripture 13:40, how to hold fast in the midst of the storm and developing practices of restoration 31:20, how love must always involve truth 45:00, and they finish by touching on unity within the church for the sake of the lost and how truth never means division if you are holding to the faithful fundamentals of the gospel 50:10.
