It’s a light week of tournaments with The Players Championship taking centre stage in Florida while LIV Golf are in Singapore for their fourth event of the season. Meanwhile closer to home, the WPGA Tour of Australasia and Ladies European Tour co-sanctioned Australian Women’s Classic has been reduced to 54 holes but will go ahead at Coffs Harbour Golf Club on the NSW North Coast.

Sad news from home as the approach of Cyclone Alfred sees the Australian WPGA Championship on the Gold Coast cancelled for safety reasons. No such problems elsewhere in the world, however, as the LPGA heads to China for the Blue Bay LPGA tournament, the PGA TOUR remains in Florida for the signature Arnold Palmer Invitational and the DP World Tour is in South Africa for the Joburg Open. There’s also digital golf on offer from the TGL while closer to home the NZ PGA takes on extra importance with the race for the Order of Merit and associated benefits drawing to a close.

Action aplenty with two of the world’s oldest national Opens being played this week, the NZ Open in Queenstown on the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia and the Investec South African Open at Durban Country Club on the DP World Tour. Meanwhile, the PGA TOUR is back on US soil for the start of the Florida swing at the Cognizant Classic at PGA National while the LPGA continues their tour through Asia at the limited field, no cut HSBC Women’s World Championship of Golf.

Great viewing for Australian fans this week with the Webex Players Series Sydney teeing off at Castle Hill Thursday, while the best women players in the game are at the Honda LPGA Thailand in Pattaya. The DP World Tour heads to Africa for the Magical Kenya Open and the PGA TOUR crosses the southern border for the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld. All corners of the globe covered this week as the LPGA makes its 2025 debut at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in Florida while the PGA TOUR is on the opposite coast at Pebble Beach. The DP World Tour remain in the middle east at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship as the Asian Tour returns to one of the world’s more interesting courses at the DLF Country Club in India. Both the game’s biggest circuits for the men are back in action this week with the PGA TOUR in California for The American Express while the DP World Tour starts its season at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. It is sport’s shortest off season and it’s done for another year as big time golf is already off and running for 2025.
