This week we discuss active management of the third stage of labour. This includes differentiating between physiological versus active management, discussing early versus delayed cord clamping following delivery of baby, and running through what you can expect after the birth of your baby. We also outline the post-partum haemorrhage (PPH), including the causes, the risks and how we manage PPH.
