This show continued the discussion of Real Estate Cycles and the Secondary market. The three main Secondary Market Associations FNMA, GNMA and FHLMC were discussed in detail. Also, students were shown the web sites for each one of these organizations and other web site links listed under the Web Sites Links Chapter 2 area on the class Blackboard web site.

This show began with a discussion of Sources of Funds and The Primary Market. Traditional Direct Lenders such as Savings and Loans, Commercial Banks and Credit Unions were discussed. Also, the Savings and Loan problems of the 1980’s that led up to the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act (FIRREA) were discussed.

Indirect Lenders such as Pension Funds, Insurance Companies, Mortgage Brokers, and Mortgage Bankers/Mortgage Companies were covered. Finally, the use of the internet to obtain loans and other financial web sites were demonstrated and discussed in detail.

The "Good Faith Estimate of Closing Costs Statement" was discussed in detail including the handbook that explains what each line item in the statement means.
