There is an ongoing debate over what is the "online right," and is it even a real thing? I would argue it is, and it's playing an important role in the shifting power dynamics of today.

Paul Kingsnorth wrote an article for First Things, making an argument against the idea and reality of Christian Civilization. We in the Ghetto thought it merited a response.
Fairly shortly after Paul Kingsnorth wrote the following piece:
https://firstthings.com/against-christian-civilization/
…it engendered a response among the guys in the Ghetto. We all took some time to read and digest it, celebrate Christmas and New Years, line up our schedules, so as to have a discussion on this piece. If it were any other author, we might have ignored it and moved on. But, we all respect Paul as writer and a thinker. We appreciated his conversion story as well as his deep dive into the technological problem and modernity. But, as much as it pains us to do this, we had to push back with some force. It was not a great piece and needed a robust response. That is what we did. We have tagged him here in the hopes that this discussion might reach him. We would love to have him on to dialogue on the subject and explore more where he is coming from and see if our critiques engender some re-thinking of his own position. Its an important discussion and we hope you will enjoy it.

We tend to think of propaganda as something done to us. But given the effects of the technological society, we have come to need propaganda to keep ourselves and society functioning.

What does it mean when we hear that incoming Harvard students don't read? Should this concern us? What kind of things will change if people no longer read books?

"Friend of the pod" Eugyppius recently wrote a piece discussing why it is that the regime seems incapable of maintaining its control of popular opinion. I have some further thoughts on this.

I invited Nate on to have a conversation about the problem of scale and if it is possible to devolve power from global and national structures without undermining the lifestyle of the average person?

Shortly after episode 24 dropped, Ron Dodson suggested a follow up to the discussion J. Burden and I had about millennial men, especially how "the system" forces men to take on feminine behaviours. The three of us got together to continue the discussion in a new direction.

Peanut the Squirrel and his untimely death have been all over Twitter/X over the weekend. I was joined by The Black Horse, Johann Kurtz, Riley S and Steve from Fox N’ Sons Coffee to talk about why Peanut captured our attention. We talk about the power of memes and symbols, the administrative state, Girardian scapegoats and much, much more. A light hearted and yet totally serious conversation about nothing.
