Today's episode is all about being a beginner! Let's say you want to start a new career, or a new business, or possibly just build a new skill or offering within your existing business. How do we go about starting something new? How do we pivot slowly but surely towards the thing we want to do?
I am currently in the process of building towards becoming a professional photographer, alongside my existing business (which I still very much enjoy!). It's still early days, but I have already learned *so much* and I wanted to share with you what the journey has been like so far. I'm using examples from my own story, but these principles are broad enough to apply to any new things you're taking on, too.

As I am sure you know by now, I'm a bit of a systems geek! It's a big part of my "slowpreneur framework", which has three major components: strategy, systems & self-care. In my experience, having all three of these pieces set up in an intentional way is what unlocks your ability to have a business that feels good and sustainable to run. đđŒ
So today we're talking about the systems part of things! On this episode, I'm sharing my seven most-recommended tools for slowpreneurs, based on what we want more of. Each of these recommendations is tailored towards a feeling that you're craving, whether it's more calm, more momentum, more confidence, or anything in between. Technology isn't magic, but it can be hugely supportive if we use it to our advantage. âĄïž
PS. Do you have any tools or apps that help you feel calmer & more productive? I'd love to hear about them!

On today's episode, we're talking about how to deal with slow seasons in your business. All business owners will deal with these at some point during their career! Maybe you launch something to crickets, or your cashflow gets sluggish, or you're suddenly not sure where your next client is coming from. Slow seasons are normal and inevitable, but can also REALLY throw us for a loop if we're not careful.
The truth is that while slow seasons are normal, there is almost always something we can do to get that momentum going again. So in this episode, I'm sharing some reframes, mindset shifts and practical tips that can help us get out of stress & scarcity and back into aligned action.

On today's episode, we're using Taylor Swift & the Eras tour as a case study to see what we can learn about slowpreneurship! Even if you're not a big fan of Taylor, I still think there are some interesting lessons to be learned from the way that she steers her career. đ¶
We're covering humility, preparedness, generosity, earnestness, sustainability, creativity, and surprise & delight. While the examples are based on the business of a global popstar, the lessons are universal. Hope you find some inspiration here for your own business! đ€

On today's episode I'm interviewing Sarah Von Bargen about her decision to step back from public internet life and adopt a more sustainable business model for herself.
I've been a fan of Sarah's for years, ever since she was first blogging on Yes and Yes, and long before she was selling courses. So imagine my sadness, delight and envy when she announced her internet retirement! I was so intrigued by her decision and was so excited about this opportunity to ask her more about it. In this episode you'll hear more about the reality of running an online course business, how she stepped away, and her advice for anyone else quitting the internet. It's a fascinating episode that I found really inspiring and helpful.

As a solo business owner, it can be really tough to set boundaries with clients. We need to have policies that protect us, but speaking those out loud and enforcing them with others can feel super scary, if not next to impossible. đ
It's also pretty hard to figure out when to be disciplined with your boundary-setting, and when to be more flexible. When we should give people the benefit of the doubt, and when we should hold firm. This is why gentle boundary-setting is an art, not a science.
In today's episode, I'm sharing two recent stories that illustrated for me some of the principles and values that I believe in when it comes to gentler, more human boundary-setting. Remember: there are no "right answers", there are only answers that feel right to you. â€ïž

On today's episode, I'm interviewing social media strategist and event planner Kirsti McNabney, whose mission is to help you connect with your ideal clients in-person and digitally.
If you're somebody who has a major love-hate relationship with social media (đđ»ââïž), this is the episode for you. Kirsti's approach centres authenticity, community, and building true connection with the people you interact with online. We talk a lot about why social media "best practices" might not be right for you, and how you can create a social media presence that actually feels good for you to sustain.
I found Kirsti's wisdom so fresh and helpful, and I know you'll love her advice in this episode.

When the world is scary, it is easy to get sucked into the bad habit of doomscrolling: compulsively checking our various feeds for bad news and updates. This impulse makes sense! We want to be informed, and it's difficult to switch off when things are stressful. đ
And yet staying in this cycle of doom is not helping us or anyone else. It's throwing off our nervous systems and making us less effective in our work and our activism. So in today's episode, I'm sharing some of my best strategies and tips for reducing your doomscrolling, plus some crowdsourced suggestions from all of you! đ±
Hopefully there will be something in here that is supportive in reducing the harm of these habits so we can all feel healthier and happier. â€ïž

On today's episode, I'm interviewing Joy Asibey-Gabriel, personal stylist and feminine adornment coach, about the power of living & working pleasure-first.
This was such a rich conversation! We explored why it can be so hard for us to prioritize pleasure, why pleasure is so important, how Joy brings pleasure into her life and business, and how we can start to access it in small ways every day.
Joy is such an inspiring human, who is always dancing, laughing, and dressed to the nines. I love watching how she shows up in the world, and I really loved learning from her throughout this conversation. đ

Confession: I'm a business coach that kind of hates the business coaching industry. I have opinions about some of the shenanigans that go on when it comes to marketing, sales and business models, and I want to talk about! Not just to protect you from scammy, slimey tactics, but also to strongly discourage you from replicating any of them inadvertently. đ đ»ââïž
In this episode I'm sharing my seven hottest takes on the world of online business: everything from passive income to MLMs to "investing in yourself". We're going there! Wanna join us? đ¶

On today's episode, I'm chatting with Celina Rosso, intuitive business witch & medium for entrepreneurs, about how we can use energetics in our business to move closer to the things that we want.
Our conversation was full of great nuggets, including: how to follow the nudges you get towards your next right steps, the importance of meeting your strategy with energy, and how we can add some practical magic into the process of running our businesses. Celina's approach is all about having a relationship with your business and your clients, and she has some powerful perspectives to share that will change the way you see those relationships. âš

Y'all, we have a lot to do which means we have a lot to NOT do. On today's episode, I'm talking about entering my anti-decanting era, plus what my shampoo bottle epiphany taught me about figuring what else I'm not doing anymore in life and business. This is a terrifically freeing thought experiment that I highly encourage you to take on in your own life! đĄ
Tune in for lots of examples of the power of personal policies, how we apply this practice *weekly* in The Profoundery, and other ideas for things you may want to discontinue for yourself. Honestly? Not doing things is super fun. đ đ»ââïž

On today's episode, I'm convincing you to take a vacation from your business. A real one! Not a staycation, not a working trip, not a digital nomad experience on the beach in Thailand. A real vacation where you unplug from your daily tasks, give yourself a chance to breathe, and learn to be a human again. đ
I'm going to share two key mindset shifts that you'll need to take on board before you feel like vacationing is possible, and then I'll talk through six tips to make your vacation more fun & relaxing for you. Ready to vacay?! đ

Amanda has years of experience in marketing and we are so lucky that she is sharing her philosophies and approach with us. đđŒYou'll hear some of the factors that make marketing so hard (for all of us!) and how we can use the principle of "just enough marketing" when it comes to how much we show up. On this episode, I'm sharing my seven favourite books for slowpreneurs! đ Unfortunately there is no book specifically about slowpreneurship (yet! I hope to write one soon!) but these seven taken together are a good primer to help you build more slow values into your own business.
I'll be walking you through all of these books one by one and sharing why it has stuck with me over the years. We're covering a whole range of topics, from setting up standard operation procedures to dealing with stress to time management, and I hope you pick up some of these books to support you in your own small business. đ

On today's episode, I'm talking to â GĂ©raldine JippĂ©, the creator of the podcast Slow is Good and the co-founder of The Slowpreneur Summitâ , about her journey to slowpreneurship. đđŒ
She shares how she learned the hard way after a cancer diagnosis that she needed to slow down and prioritize her life while building a business. I loved GĂ©raldine's approach to business, how she wants to set a better example for her son, her practice of playing the harp (!) and much more.
I think you'll love her gentle energy and soulful approach to building a business with intention. â€ïž

On this episode, I'm talking about why rest is so important for us entrepreneurs. It's not just a "nice to have" thing that can be sacrificed on the altar of productivity! Rest is one of the most important factors when it comes to our productivity & creativity, and should be prioritized.
I'm also sharing five different kinds of rest to hopefully spark some new ways of thinking about rest and encourage you to fold even more of it into the everyday life of running your own business.

On today's episode, I'm talking to Ashley Beaudin, the Gentle Business Coach, about her approach to building a gentle business that prioritizes care, safety and compassion for ourselves. â€ïž She shares her own journey to building a gentle business and what she's learned from past experiences and endeavours that were successful externally, but not always internally.
Ashley is so thoughtful and intentional in everything she does, and I was so inspired to learn more about her approach to creating more ease & joy while also achieving our goals. Her thoughts on protecting and regulating our nervous systems as a key part of running a business were so fresh and supportive, and something I've been thinking a lot about since we spoke. I can't wait for you to learn from her ideas. đđŒ
