While I didn't expect to end the year or start the next season of Something to Consider under circumstances as heartbreaking as the ones that the last three months of 2023 have brought to Palestine, I am a strong believer in speaking up for injustice. And in the case of Palestine, it is not just a matter of urgency but a necessity to do so and to continue to do so until the day we see a free and liberated Palestine.
This episode is my reflection as a Palestinian living diaspora, whom like many listeners is at a loss for words when it comes to the reality of the world we live in today. We explore three key considerations when it comes to our role as advocates for the Palestinian cause whether it be through conversations or initiatives. As always, I hope you will find something to consider.

In the final episode of the first season of Something to Consider, this is a story about liberation. My own, that is. Liberation in a sense of embracing transformative parts of your life that are meant to shake you to your core. This is perhaps the most personal of the episodes I have published so far, and I hope you will find something to consider. In a follow up to the episode on burnout, I share my struggle with maintaining my physical health and what happened as a result of me not listening to my own body. While the impact of my experiences were reason enough for me to take a step back and decide what I wanted to change about my life, I also discuss the power that comes as a result of transformation. Whether it was the physical or mental limitations that held me back, it was my new found energy, self-confidence and appreciation of life that has transformed me the most. If you come away with anything from this episode I hope it is that no matter how dark your own internal struggle may seem, you are not alone.Connect with the Host:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dalhanbali/LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/danaalhanbaliTwitter: https://twitter.com/DanaAlhanbaliTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@danaalhanbaliYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/@danaalhanbali5621/about

What does it mean to have Grit and Grace? Why are these two characteristics often used to describe women and what they should project in the business world? Are they attainable qualities? Or is it a call to embrace the extraordinary within ourselves? In this episode we explore how grit plays a crucial role in personal and professional growth. We also challenge what it means to possess grace, and how a quality that is so closely linked to resilience intertwines with ones own drive to persevere at all costs. Can these qualities empower you to navigate lifes complexities with determination, compassion, and an unwavering spirit? We hope you will find something to consider. This weeks episode is inspired from a comment I received on social media around the idea of how to manage authenticity in a sea of sameness. And while the question was framed around the ill-intention of lazy peers, I think the root of the concern stems from a deeper sense of scarcity that is worth exploring. Authenticity is a pursuit just as much as it is a state of being. But how does one build endurance in maintaining authenticity in an environment that isn't always ethical? I share some of the lessons that came from reflecting on these very questions, and I hope you will find something to consider. Entrepreneurship has become such a loaded word. With it comes assumptions around success, cash, ideas vs problems, customers, and what it really takes to run a business. This week we are joined by John Mullins, Ph.D. a professor of entrepreneurship at the London Business School. Author of 4 books and a series of articles that have appeared in publications like Harvard Business Review, the MIT Sloan Management Review, and The Wall Street Journal, John shares his insights and learnings on what it takes to make it in the business. From taking his own company IPO to teaching, he is known for challenging the principles of running a business and has developed a series of counter conventional frameworks that he will share along with insights from case studies from business like Dell, Apple, LinkedIn and Costco and their founders. The discussion includes questions like What investors look for in a CEO before investing? When should an entrepreneur look to raise capital from a VC? Why do most entrepreneurs fail?We hope you will find something to consider. We are programed to be in constant pursuit. Pursuit of education, jobs, marriage, family, houses, money, growth, and the list goes on. And while we can argue that pursuit drives or even provides us with a sense or purpose, or that it fuels ambition, I wonder why we aren't always vocal about another result of the practice. Something that we only think about in the privacy of our own mind. Do you know what question I am referring to? And it is a question, that in fact is sometimes a necessary push into introspection that we brush off too fast because to ask the question is to force ourselves to come face to face with one of the most difficult practices we collectively have yet to master. And that is presence. We may not agree on this one, but I hope you will find something to consider as we look at the ideas of time, pursuit and presence in this weeks episode. When thinking of love, many may refer to that famous line made famous by the movie Moulin Rouge, "The greatest thing you will ever learn, is to love and be loved in return." But is it? Is that it? What exactly constitutes as love? What does it mean to be loved? Is true love meant to be selfless or is love selfish? These are the questions that open up the gateway to an exploration of love from a philosophical perspective in this week's podcast episode. Drawing from the wisdom of ancient philosophers like Plato and Aristotle, we examine notions of love as a force that brings about personal growth and connection between individuals. In our quest for understanding, we challenge listeners to contemplate their own experiences with love and to critically examine their preconceptions. By delving into the philosophical exploration of love, we seek to unravel its mysteries and shed light on this intricate, essential, and often precarious endeavor that humanity holds in such high regard. We are joined by Leopold Ajami, a creative by nature and philosopher by degree. Leopold is a renowned public speaker and founder of the Novel Philosophy Academy, a philosophy driven academy for creative thinkers. He is also the co-host of a podcast show called Ideas on Trial designed to confront "undisputed, yet culturally accepted" ideas that aren't being questioned. Do we ever really get over trauma? What even qualifies as trauma? How much of it is real and how much of it is just thoughts in our head? Do we have control over our emotions? CBT, EMDR, what does it all mean and what is the difference? These are just a few of the questions we explore in this episode on unpacking trauma and the importance of reprocessing emotions. This episode is a personal reflection of my experience with burnout and how it changed my life. It is easy to talk about recognizing the signs but taking action and doing something about it is where the challenge lies. I touch on topics like the balancing act of work and family, expectations, boundaries, therapy and how to support someone going through it. Is burnout just this construct that we need to learn how to cope with? When is enough, enough? This is my story, and I hope you will find something to consider. In the pursuit of purpose, we are faced with decisions along the way that call into question the notion of "enough." Does wanting more or something different mean you are less grateful for where you are at today? At what point are we allowed to pause and reflect on whether something is right for us? Does intuition or "the gut" have a role in helping you make the right decisions despite what others may say? This episode explores these questions by examining the balance of gratitude and drive and the role they play in personal growth.
