In this Pre-Pesach episode we learn about the meaning of true joy and the deep message connected with the Korbon Pesach, the Pascal Sacrifice. We draw inspiration from the late Mrs Assia New, matriarch of the New family from Melbourne Australia, who embodied real simcha and joyous dancing for every bride on their wedding day. With her beautiful voice and royal mannerism, she made many musical concerts for the Jewish communities of the FSU and raised their spirits in very difficult times.
Through the lens of Chassidus (Jewish Mysticism) we learn about the deeper meaning of the custom to share in joyous dancing on festivals, weddings and special ocassions in the Torah, and how through dancing, one can connect deeply to Hashem and fulfill the commandment ," Serve G-d with joy".
Throughout the ages, in happy times and trying times, the joyous dancing Jew was always sought after and drew down a wonderous source of blessing to the community.
