    Welcome, Texas High School football fans, to the Texas HS Football Podcast I’m your host, Taylor Arenz, bringing you an early drop this week for the final week of the 2024 Texas High School Football Season—State Championship Week!

    Over four incredible days, 24 teams will descend upon AT&T Stadium for the chance to claim the ultimate prize: a Texas High School Football State Championship. From the sidelines of all 12 games, I’ll be covering every snap, touchdown, and moment of excitement as players, fans, cheerleaders, bands, and entire communities unite for this unforgettable experience.

    This year, we’re seeing familiar faces and exciting newcomers battling for glory, making it a week you won’t want to miss! It all starts Wednesday with the 6-Man battles kicking off to the grand finale Saturday night, featuring powerhouse matchups like North Crowley vs. Austin Westlake and Southlake Carroll vs. Vandegrift.

    This week I talked to two athletes who shared their journey to the state finals!

    First up Celina Bobcats’ senior RB Harrison Williams! Harrison scored the winning touchdown in the Bobcats Semifinal 43-36 victory over White Plains! Harrison fills Taylor in on the team, the special Bobcat community and lots of great advice he has learned from his years playing Texas High School football.

    Then, Taylor got a a chance to talk to Highland Park Scots’ QB Buck Randall. Buck is only a sophomore and has helped lead the team to the State finals. He talks about his adjustment to becoming QB1 at such a young age, their special team and much more!

    Welcome to the Texas HS Football Podcast, your go-to source for all the playoff action, hosted by Taylor Arenz. It’s Week 5 of the playoffs—the semifinals—and we’re down to the final four teams in each division, with two teams set to punch their tickets to AT&T Stadium!

    The 1A 6-man state championship teams are now confirmed! In 1A D2, it will be Jayton vs. Oakwood, and in 1A D1, Whiteface will face Gordon. Congratulations to these teams!

    The TAPPS State Championship was held last week. Congrats to the 11-man Division 2 winner, Fort Worth All Saints Episcopal, who defeated Houston Second Baptist 21-3 to claim their first-ever TAPPS state championship! Also, Argyle Liberty Christian triumphed over Dallas Parish Episcopal, ending the Panthers' five-time state championship win streak with a convincing 45-24 victory!

    Another impressive win this weekend was the Summer Creek Bulldogs’ overwhelming defeat of their district rivals, the Kingwood Mustangs, by a score of 51-7. The Bulldogs aim to return to AT&T Stadium for a second consecutive year and are just a week away from achieving that goal! Taylor’s first guest this week is Bulldogs safety Brandon “B” Jones. Last week's quarterfinal game saw Brandon break the national record for pick-sixes in a season, marking his seventh interception and tying the Texas record as well! Taylor and “B” discuss the record, his team, and his passion for the game!

    Next up is athlete Keilan Sweeny, a standout for the Randle Lions, who are headed to the semifinals. Keilan scored all three of their touchdowns in last week's game, including the overtime winner! He shares what it's like to make history for the Lions and the special bond this team has developed this season.

    Our final guest is North Shore cornerback Devin Sanchez. An Ohio State commit and one of the top-ranked players in Texas and the nation, Devin possesses incredible speed and has made opposing offenses think twice about throwing near him for years! He discusses his recruitment journey, his experiences at North Shore, and shares great advice for young athletes.

    Welcome to the Texas HS Football Podcast, your go-to source for all the playoff action, hosted by Taylor Arenz. It’s Week 4 of the playoffs—the quarterfinal round—and this week is packed with some huge rematches across the state! Twelve games in this round are repeat matchups from earlier this year, many of which were wild regular-season battles. With even bigger stakes now, this weekend is sure to deliver some incredible football. A few notable games include North Shore vs. Atascocita, Westlake vs. Lake Travis, Kilgore vs. Chapel Hill, and Denton Ryan vs. Aledo.

    Last weekend’s regional round was a blast! The Houston Texans’ NRG Stadium hosted three games in a row. Playing in an NFL stadium is a special opportunity for Texas high school football teams and their fans cheering them on.

    Over in San Antonio, the Alamodome also hosted several regional finals. One standout game was between the Cibolo Steele Knights and the Vandegrift Vipers. The Vipers claimed the win over the hometown Knights, 49-35.

    Our first guest this week is junior quarterback Miles Teodecki, who’s leading the charge for the Vipers' success. Miles and Taylor discuss the big win, his team, and his journey in his first season as quarterback.

    The second guest is Duncanville’s five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore! Dakorien is one of the top-ranked players not just in Texas but in the entire country. An Oregon Ducks commit, he and Taylor chat about his decision to commit, what it’s like being such a star at a young age, the Duncanville Panthers, and so much more. You’ll love getting to know Dakorien!

    Next, Taylor talks with Sheldon Rice, the defensive end for the undefeated Fulshear Chargers. Sheldon, a University of Houston commit, shares how he decided to become a Coog and what it's like to play for the Fulshear Chargers during the playoffs.

    Wrapping up the podcast this week is North Forney junior quarterback Legend Bey. In his first season at the helm, Legend had a standout playoff game, with 200 passing yards, four touchdowns, 155 rushing yards, and two rushing touchdowns—totaling six touchdowns! We discuss his team, the season, and his first playoff win as a quarterback!

    The Texas high school football playoffs are here! After 11 weeks of regular-season games, the season has wrapped up, and now teams head to the playoffs where it's win or go home. This is the most exciting time of the season, and this week, host Taylor Arenz talks with two star defensive ends who will make a significant impact in the playoffs!

    First up is Baylor Bear commit Kamauryn “K3” Morgan. Kamauryn is a defensive end for South Oak Cliff, the reigning state champions! He has helped make the South Oak Cliff defense stellar for years, and this season is no different. You will enjoy getting to know Kamauryn and learning all about the South Oak Cliff program!

    Next, host Taylor Arenz speaks with defensive end and Oklahoma State commit Michael Riles, who plays for the Port Arthur Memorial Titans. He shares insights about the Titans' season, their upcoming playoff challenges, and his decision to become an Oklahoma State Cowboy!

    It’s Week 11 of the Texas high school football season, marking the last week of regular-season games for 2024! This week, host Taylor Arenz talks to two athletes who are big playmakers for their teams.

    First up is Greg Gibson, an athlete from the West Mesquite Wranglers. Greg plays on both sides of the ball and on special teams, making significant contributions in their 20-13 win over the Newman Smith Trojans to secure the top spot in District 6-5A! "G2" was the star of the show, and we chatted about the game, his team’s amazing turnaround this season, and much more!

    Next, Taylor speaks with Cy Falls linebacker Kaleb Burns. He shares details about their exciting Week 10 game that extended well past midnight, discusses his season, and talks about his decision to become a Baylor Bear in the future!

    Week 10 of the Texas HS Football Podcast is a quarterback episode! This week Host Taylor Arenz spoke with three quarterbacks that led their teams to victory in huge rivalry games in Week 9. You will enjoy getting to know these star quarterbacks and hearing about their teams and the big rivalry wins!

    First up, Anakin Torres is the senior quarterback leading the El Paso Austin High School Panthers. The Panthers pitched a shutout in their game against El Paso Riverside to lock in the 4A District 1 top spot. This rivalry game was recently listed in Sports Illustrated as one of the top rivalries in the Nation and Anakin Torres talked about the game and more!

    Next, the quarterback who has been at the helm of one of Texas and the entire country’s top high school program for years! North Shore’s Kaleb Bailey. Kaleb talked to Taylor about his senior season, the magical come from behind win in Week 9 against their District 23 6A rivals the Atascocita Eagles and so much more!

    The final chat this week is another quarterback who hails from the school with an enormous quarterback pedigree. Rees Wise is the QB of Westlake Chaparrals! You will enjoy getting to know Rees and hearing about what it is like leading such a prestigious team, at such a young age. He also talks about the Week 9 Battle of the Lakes win and much more!

    It's Week 9 of the Texas high school football season! As the season quickly winds down, the slate of games this week may be the biggest in Texas high school football history. With an incredible number of district championship-deciding matchups and intense rivalries, the excitement is at an all-time high!

    In Week 8, one of the standout games featured Frisco Panther Creek versus Lake Dallas, which ended in an exhilarating quadruple overtime. Host Taylor Arenz gets all the details from star athlete Jalen Lott.

    Next, Taylor speaks with Nolan Cook, quarterback of the Huffman Hargrave Falcons. The Falcons are currently undefeated, a remarkable turnaround from last season's one-win performance! Nolan shares insights about the impressive transformation of the team and discusses his exciting scoring games, including several with over 65 points.

    Following that, Taylor chats with Cole Allen, a Harvard commit from the Houston St. John's Mavericks. Cole discusses his team, shares valuable advice for younger athletes, and explains why he chose to play for Harvard.

    This week's episode features host Taylor Arenz, who talks with three big playmakers who helped lead their teams to victory in Week 7.

    First, Taylor chats with Braeden Imhoff, who is in his first season leading the Prosper Eagles. His leadership is evident as they are putting up impressive numbers on the scoreboard, and you will be very impressed by Braeden as he shares insights about his team.

    Next up is defensive end Tyler Cesarski from Bellaire Episcopal High School. The Knights are the reigning SPC State Champions, and it's their first season under new head coach James Moynihan. Tyler discusses the new season, their new coach, and their wild Week 7 game that ended in an overtime win!

    Finally, the biggest game of the regular season, not just in Texas high school football but potentially in the entire country, took place in Week 7: Duncanville vs. DeSoto. The Duncanville Panthers emerged victorious with a score of 42-20, and after this big win, Taylor had a chance to talk to the player at the helm, quarterback Keelon Russell. Keelon, an Alabama commit, shares details about his decision, his relationship with star receiver Dakorien Moore, and what it’s like to be a Duncanville Panther.

    First up, Aledo football RB Raycine Guillory Jr talks all about Aledo Bearcats football and their big game last weekend against Denton Ryan that made history with it’s 123rd straight district win.

    Next, Taylor chatted with Mansfield Tigers and University of North Texas Commit Wide Receiver Jacobe Hayes. Jacobe is helping lead the Tigers to a special season and they talked about his leadership, this seasons special team and much more!

    Welcome to Week 6 of the Texas high school football season, the halfway point of the regular season! This is the biggest bye week of the year. Out of the 1,101 11-man football teams, 374 are on a bye this week, which means that a third of the teams are getting some much-needed rest! However, that still leaves 520 games this weekend!

    This week's episode features a quarterback edition as host Taylor Arenz talks with three winning quarterbacks.

    Up first is Brady Bricker, the quarterback for the mighty Allen Eagles. Brady discusses their perfect season and the excitement of seeing the Allen Eagles soaring high this year.

    Next, Taylor chats with Euless Trinity Trojans quarterback Tj Tupou. You will love getting to know Tj and hearing how the team’s adversity and resilience have propelled them to victory.

    The final conversation this week is with Dallas Parish Episcopal quarterback Sawyer Anderson, a Purdue commit. Sawyer has been leading the Panthers since he was a freshman, and this season they are vying for their fourth straight TAPPS Division 1 state championship. He shares with Taylor the growth he has experienced over the last four seasons, his leadership style, and the Dallas Parish community.

    Week five of the Texas High School football season it is the last weekend of September its getting dark early at the football games but the teams are sure shining bright on the field and the fun in the stadium is getting more hyped each week!

    This week host Taylor Arenz talked to three players that made big impacts in Week four.

    First up is LBJ Austin quarterback Ali Scott. His team had to go to overtime to get their win over Dallas Parish after a back and forth battle all night long! Ali told Taylor all about this hard-fought win and the big overtime play that got them the win! You will enjoy getting to know Ali.

    Then Taylor talked to Robinson football RB Evan Moreno about their big on the road upset of Glen Rose. Evan tells Taylor about how knew they could win and the grit it took to get that win from him and the Rockets.

    The final interview of the week is Frenship Quarterback Holden Phillips. Holden had a huge game in Week four with 459 yards and five Touchdowns. It was a fun game and will go down as a great senior memory but as you will hear he plans on continuing to make many more with their strong Frenship Tigers team this season!

    It is already Week 4 of Texas High School Football, and Week 3 brought another round of exciting games! Host Taylor Arenz had the chance to speak with four stars from the week’s top matchups.

    First up is A&M Consolidated quarterback Will Hargett. The Tigers kicked off District 12-6A games against the Pflugerville Wolves, and Will shares insights about the team’s win and what it’s like to lead the Tigers this season.

    Next, Taylor chats with LSU commit Kade Phillips, who plays both wide receiver and defensive back for the Fort Bend Hightower Hurricanes. This week, the Hurricanes had a thrilling overtime game, and Kade’s incredible Superman catch saved the day. He opens up about the catch, staying calm under pressure, his emotions as a senior, and his decision to commit to LSU.

    The Southlake Dragons faced their rivals Byron Nelson in their District 4-6A opener, winning 33-21. USC commit Riley Wormley played a significant role in the Dragons' ground game, helping to lead this young team to success. He discusses the game, his emotional journey as a senior, and how he chose USC.

    Lastly, Taylor talks to Atascocita Eagles quarterback Cardae Mack, leading his team this season. In Week 3, the Eagles traveled to Austin to take on the Westlake Chaparrals in their stadium.     What a thrilling Week Two it was in Texas high school football, featuring many exciting games and notable upsets! Host Taylor Arenz spoke with some of the stars from the week's biggest matchups.

    First, she chats with Fulshear Chargers running back Patrick Broadway II. Patrick was spectacular this past weekend, racking up 248 rushing yards, two touchdowns, and averaging an impressive 10.3 yards per carry, helping the Chargers secure a 49-41 victory over the Ridge Point Panthers. This season marks the Chargers' first in 6A, and they have started strong with a 2-0 record. Patrick shares his thoughts on the team's performance and much more during their conversation!

    Next, Taylor talks with Coppell Cowboys three-star quarterback Edward Griffin, a Baylor Bears commit. The Cowboys won an exhilarating 28-27 overtime game after coming back twice from a two-touchdown deficit! Edward discusses the game's critical moments, his calm under pressure, and valuable advice for younger athletes striving for success.

    Lastly, Taylor welcomes North Crowley Panthers' dynamic duo: quarterback Chris Jimerson Jr. and wide receiver Quentin Gibson. This exciting pair made headlines after the Panthers defeated the Despot Eagles, ending their two-year win streak. In an intense back-and-forth game that saw the lead change ten times, Chris and Quentin recount the thrilling match and their celebrations and offer inspiring advice on believing that anything is possible.

    Football is back, and Week 1 did not disappoint! Host Taylor Arenz had the opportunity to talk to some big playmakers from the opening week.

    First up is Alvarado High School quarterback Cardea Collier. The Indians traveled to Godley and spoiled the Wildcats' home opener, achieving a decisive 48-21 victory. Cardea shares details about the game, and you will enjoy getting to know him and learning about the team he has led for the past three seasons.

    Arguably, one of the best games of the weekend was the back-and-forth showdown between the Katy Tigers and the Dickinson Gators, which came down to the last play. This week's guest, Isaiah McMillian, starred in that pivotal moment, and he fills Taylor in on the game and all the emotions of that thrilling night.

    This week's final guest is Grayson Rigdon, one of the most talked-about players in Texas high school football this summer. Grayson transferred to Columbus High School this summer, making the move from 6-man to 11-man football. This change sparked plenty of conversation, but Grayson silenced the critics with an outstanding performance in Week 1. You will love hearing from Grayson and learning how he has managed the pressure over the past few months.

    It has been 257 days since the lights went out in AT&T Stadium for the final state championship game, but the 2024 Texas High School season is finally here! This week, host Taylor Arenz talks to four senior athletes who will all play significant roles in their teams' success this season.

    First up is Houston Memorial Mustangs wide receiver Carson Wall. Carson shares with Taylor how the Mustangs are a team that should not be overlooked and offers great advice for young athletes.

    Next, Taylor talks with Texas Longhorn commit and four-star cornerback Caleb Chester. Caleb plays cornerback at Fort Bend Marshall High School and discusses his recruitment journey and how he knew the University of Texas was the right place for him. He also shares his emotions and goals for the season.

    Elijah Favela, the quarterback of Judson High School, is poised for a strong season with his Rockets, who have a great bond that he believes will be evident on the field. You will enjoy getting to know Elijah and learn about his fun summer adventure.

    Finally, four-star cornerback and wide receiver Jayden Sanders from Kilgore High School shares with Taylor how he committed to the University of Michigan. He discusses his motivation to achieve a different outcome this season compared to the last few years and offers excellent advice for younger players.

    Five Star Sachse High School Wide Receiver Kaliq Lockett, a University of Texas commit, talks to Taylor about his excitement for the season, how he made the decision to commit to Texas, his plans to go out with a bang his senior season and some great advice for young athletes.

    Then, Taylor talked to four star Cornerback Dorian Brew who plays for Conroe High School. Dorian tells Taylor about the lessons he has learned playing football in Texas and how he told his family he was choosing Oregon and so much more.     This week, Texas high school football is officially back! All the teams have hit the field for practices, and the excitement is building for the season.

    Host Taylor Arenz talks with three players who will play big roles on their teams this season. First up, she chats with Cobey Sellers, Shadow Creek's five-star cornerback who is a Texas A&M commit. Cobey tells Taylor about his offseason and shares some great advice for younger Texas high school football athletes.

    Next is another Texas A&M commit, Cy-Fair High School's four-star defensive lineman, Landon Rink. Landon broke a record this offseason and talks all about that day, this upcoming season, and how he made the decision to go to Texas A&M.

    Finally, Taylor chats with Hutto High School's wide receiver, Braeton Anderson. Braeton is excited about how the Hippos are looking this season and offers some great advice for young athletes.

    Football is back! This week the first group of Texas High School football teams hit the field for practice to kick off the 2024 season! The excitement is brewing and Host Taylor Arenz caught up with some coaches and an athlete to hear all about their off season and thoughts on the new season!

    First up, is Trinity Leadership School Head Coach Derrick Adams. Coach Adams fills Taylor in on the growing program and how they prepared for the upcoming season.

    Then, Taylor had a chance to chat with Frost HS Athletic Director and Head Coach Phillip Gibson. Coach Gibson has really turned around his program and he tells Taylor all about how his Polar Bears are ready to make a real statement this season!

    Last up, is one of the highest ranked players in Texas! Ball HS Five Star S Jonah Williams talks to Taylor about his advice to younger athletes, his recruitment and so much more! You will really enjoy getting to know Jonah.
