The amount of work you can do when it matters to you!
Welcome to the 864 Podcast.
This one is a little bit different. Here the primary focus is on Bikram Yoga.
In reality, it’s more about the story of Bikram Yoga and how Julia Henderson, my guest and producer of the 30 for 30 podcast series on Bikram Yoga, came up with the idea for this show, the challenges she faced over the 18 month project, what she learned during it and where she’s at currently.
Since we recorded, Julia has been touring the world and has rightly so been received huge praise for the work she’s done with this show.
If you haven’t listened to it yet, do. After this show obviously. Links to the 30 for 30 Bikram series with the show notes below.
Below is the summary of our conversation:
The Background to the story – Julia had done so much Bikram Yoga in the past.
For a couple of years, managing a Bikram Studio
Using Bikram to unwind and destress
The effort and exertion that it takes really hardened her up and got so much done in that period – a sense of accomplishment and validation
Discipline!!!
Pitching the Yoga Story – was very unsure about how this would go over!
The bigger themes were coming out and it was key – met with support
The most challenging part of the journey?
Any point where this could be an end?
Meeting with Bikram Choudhry – the feelings around this?
Learning about yourself? Resilience, Tenacity and Pushing Through!
Note, we recording it back in in June, hence the world cup reference.
Thank you, Julia! This was one I had been looking forward to releasing for a long while!

Welcome to the 864 Podcast.
We're continuing the sporting theme (last episode with Irish International Football John Egan), but shifting code to Rugby this time. I'm delighted to be able to share this podcast with the Leinster legend Isa Nacewa.
Isa joined Leinster in 2008 and, over the next decade, in two stints with the province, won four Champions Cups, the Challenge Cup and 3 Pro-14 titles. He has been called greatest import to Irish Rugby if not European. He’s been not only immensely successful at winning trophies, he’s humility, lack of ego, and selflessness also very much stand out in the legacy he’s created in the game.
I talked with Isa couple of weeks back when in Ireland just for a few days during which time there was a testimonial dinner in his honour. It was a flying visit, but he still managed to squeeze in time for an early morning chat for the podcast.
As we recorded it in the morning, morning routines started off the conversation and we went from there. Rugby does get a mention but habits, behaviours, and mental strength are at the core of the podcast.
It was a real pleasure to talk with Isa. I’ve taken something (actually many things) of value from it that I can put into practice. My hope is you can too. Thanks to Mereula for helping make the connection.
Just before I hand it over, please do subscribe to the podcast wherever you listen to it. Helps with extending the reach as well as ensuring you get notified when the new ones come down. Welcome to another episode of The 864 Podcast.
In this episode, I talk with Partnerships & Philanthropy Manager for Enable Ireland, Sinead O'Keeffe.
Sinead talks about her career in hospitality, great learnings from this area. She wasn’t 100% content in this space after coming home to Ireland in 2009 after working in the US for a number of years. She had a desire to work in an area where she could give back. That started out her journey working for non-profits and the charity space.
Her current role with Enable Ireland really connects with her values, beliefs, and sense of purpose.
We talk about her work in this role, how she builds relationships, develops strategy, goal setting and implementing, influencing skills, selling and other core competencies that she uses on a daily basis to be successful in the role. Sinead also talks about dealing with setbacks when funding doesn’t come her way. Feedback is key and ensuring it’s taken onboard and used to her advantage.
I hope you enjoy the show. Links to connect with Sinead below:

In this episode, I talk with Rosanna Arquette.
If you want to find out about her relationship with Madonna or other standard movie questions from her acting career, this is probably not the interview for you!
The 864 aims to understand a little bit more about the person, what they value, how they have been successful, deal with life challenges and other obstacles that get in the way and we stayed close to these topics in this conversation with Rosanna.
What I did totally not stay true to was the 864 seconds duration piece. It’s more like the 1500 second podcast but it’s not every day I get to chat with Rosanna Arquette and the good stuff kept coming so I wasn’t going to break the flow!
